Baby flamingos saved from drought-decimated lake in Algeria

Om El Boughi: About 300 pink flamingo chicks have been rescued by volunteers in eastern Algeria from a salt lake that has dried up due to years of high temperatures and drought. Tens of thousands of flamingos nest each year in Lake Tinsilt, about 450 kilometers (about 280 miles) southeast of the capital, Algiers. It is one of the largest wetlands in the country, covering an area of over 20 square kilometers.
