There are many ways to ruin your Honor Mode running in Baldur's Gate 3. Dying, lying, and even looking at NPCs the wrong way can cause all your hard work to go up in flames. Respect mode is not a time to try new things in your playthrough; Just stick to a known patch, weigh your options carefully, and get that damn achievement.
Of all the things that can ruin your run, a frog added to the action is the most obscure. What harm can a cute little frog do to your party? It turns out that just doing it at the wrong time can end things for you just as quickly as they started. In fact, some players have already fallen victim to it.
Don't talk to the added frog before dealing with Aunt Ethel
Aunt Ethel is one of the most interesting NPCs in Baldur's Gate 3. So interesting, in fact, that Larian brought him back for a second round in Act 3. However, it's not just Marina that the hag is tormenting, but also the wild creatures around her hut. So much so that if you get to the Addled Frog before dealing with him, you'll likely trigger a fight, and end your run of honor as well.
Redditor onyxdk69 unfortunately found this out the hard way, resulting in them having to start their honor mode all over again. If you get into a fight with it, that cursed frog will make a ridiculously strong acid attack and will stun almost anything thrown at it. You can win, but depending on how far you progress in one task, it can easily defeat the entire party.
If you have a conversation with Aunt Ethel after defeating her, the frog will be in a very happy mood and lead you to the hidden cache. I bet Larian laughed at that. One more silly way to end your Baldur's Gate 3 honor mod run.
