Jennifer English is currently enjoying her tenure as the darling of the video game industry. After absolutely nailing it as Shadowheart in Baldur's Gate 3 and Miles in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, fans are eagerly awaiting his performance in Tides of Annihilation. However, it seems that English is excited for a different part all together.
The actor has an enviable reputation of acting only in bangers, though she has admitted to being in some bad titles. However, playing a conflicted cultist and reality-bending painter isn't enough. She will also feature in Warframe developer Digital Extremes' upcoming MMO, Soulframe, which she says is “part of her dream”.
Jennifer English's role in Soulframe is part of her dream
Speaking to GamesRadar+ at the Golden Joystick Awards, English said she absolutely loved her role as Queen Alora of Aldville in Soulframe. “Oh my God, this is part of my dream,” she said. “I play a fairy queen, and her morality is in harmony with nature.” To top it all off, he added, “I'm doing a bit of a Welsh accent, and I'm thrilled.”
While we don't have much information about Alora, English revealed earlier this month that she will be voicing a character who speaks poetry in the trio. Given that Soulframe is an MMO, she'll likely be a central part of the story, and perhaps even give some sort of quest. Given the popularity of English, Alora is unlikely to be a minor or side character.
Claire Obscure's Jennifer English is right, Queer Joy is worth pursuing no matter the price
After winning Best Performance at this year's Golden Joysticks, Jennifer English touched on the importance of eccentric joy in her life.
Since Baldur's Gate 3, English has become one of the most recognizable voices in the game industry. So much so that those who played Expedition 33 couldn't help but think it was Shadowheart “Parry it!” Couldn't feel like yelling. Always wound up a Nevron for a big attack in the game. Of course, the performance of English for both characters was otherwise very different.
Speaking of a dream role, English recently told TheGamer that if she were given the opportunity to create her dream project, it would be outside of the video game industry, as a queer genre film. She said, 'I will definitely do some type of film. “I don't know what, but I want to work with The Avengers of Cece, Thess, Gay and Allies. Something really inclusive, and badass, and something that hasn't been done before.”
