DHAKA: A nationwide media blackout was imposed in Bangladesh on Friday following clashes between police and students that have left dozens dead in the past few days. After student protestors sealed campuses and hostels and suspended all educational institutions, demanding the cancellation of government jobs, the government announced on Thursday night that it will shut down mobile internet for security reasons.
