One day, the gates suddenly open on Earth, summoning demons and transporting some people to other worlds. He lives there for hundreds of years, but when he suddenly returns home, only ten years have passed.

It starts out as a simple hunter fantasy, but it actually gets more complicated as it explores planets connected to Earth. The protagonist, Yul Choi, is randomly given an incredibly strong item, which allows him to gain information on all scenarios that occur. Unfortunately, it also steals rewards from other players, so you have no choice but to become a public enemy to lead them to success.

Like many other isekai, this manhwa is often filled with fantasy archetypes and concepts such as magical objects, monsters, and skills. The science fiction features don't appear until after the first forty chapters, where the city begins to integrate modern technology with magical resources, making it strong enough to survive nuclear-level threats.

The Knight King who returned with a god

This manhwa is different because it is both an isekai and an inverted isekai. The hero is reborn in another world as Leon Dragonia and eventually becomes the king of Leonhardt, blessed by the gods. When that world is overrun by demons, he eventually returns to Earth through gates that normally let demons out. Leon soon becomes a superpower in the world because of his association with a pantheon of gods.

Although the story is set in modern day, there are still some sci-fi elements that appear. Because the gates connect different dimensions, the enemies aren't always monsters like orcs and goblins. A robot is one of the main antagonists for the short story arc, and it later becomes a supporting character, supporting Leon by manipulating the media and the stock market.

Although it starts as a manhwa climbing the tower, it turns into a great adventure to discover the truth about the world. Unlike other Isekai stories, the protagonist, Jehwan, chooses to leave his own world to fight the system, the root of it all. However, to do so, he must traverse several different dimensions and contend with adapters, nightmares, and gods.

Because this story goes through so many different worlds and dimensions, it includes everything. There are magic and special powers, zombie outbreaks, a customer system, and finally, robots and virtual reality simulations. Androids and drones are just a few of the obstacles that Jaehwan must overcome, and although they only appear for a brief moment at a time, they will definitely show up in later chapters as well.

Now, in the body of a background character, he must compete with cadets trying to become heroes. As a writer, it should be simple, but an unknown editor is making changes to his story, leading to new events and developments.

This manga is an excellent example of urban fantasy, as it well illustrates the integration of magic into modern society. The story takes place on an island city called CUBE, a high-tech metropolis that supports an academy of the same name to produce heroes. Most of the technological achievements can be seen in the Academy creating holograms, simulations, and sophisticated weapons.

A popular piece of fantasy technology at many manhwas is the full-dive VR capsule, which allows people to experience the game as if it were real life. Jin Taekyung wakes up in the murim world as a young man from a prestigious family and is trapped in a virtual world after using a gaming capsule in bed. The only way to log out is to complete certain objectives, and if he dies, his real body dies too.

Much of this story actually takes place in a Murim setting, so there isn't much in terms of science and technology aside from the game system. However, there are parts where Jin Taekyung returns to the real world and many sci-fi elements can be seen. This manhwa actually takes place in a setting with dungeons and hunters, which is an interesting contrast to the Murim game world.

This manwa does a great job of balancing the three separate themes without cluttering the story, and each has a role to play. The setting is a futuristic Earth, the main antagonist is a monstrous sect leader, and the final boss is a giant dragon. Everything is tied together, which helps to focus on the entertaining story and great action scenes.
