With this new method of transportation, there is a long list of possible destinations, but choosing where to go first can be somewhat difficult. Where should I go in Dragon Quest 2 Remake?
Getting on and off the ship:
The first quarter of Dragon Quest 2 Remake Focuses on recruiting core members of your party, ie Caradoc, Prince of Cannockand Peronelle, Princess of Moonbrook. Once they are added to your party, your main task will be to switch to getting a the ship. This section is fairly straightforward, hence the question Where to go first DQ2 Not important until you get the ship.
Best destinations after getting a ship in Dragon Quest 2 Remake
Four main options:
Once you get the ship Dragon Quest 2 Remake, Choosing where to go first can feel a little overwhelming, especially if you don't play with the objective markers turned on. Even with the markers turned on, you still have to choose between four major locations.
If you miss opening the objective markers during the opening, you can visit and open them at any time. System settings section, then Useful settings section. Objective markers, along with many other useful navigation settings, can be adjusted here.
In this case, the four options actually represent the best possible options for where to go first DQ2Most other locations require items or upgrades that you don't have. The first four places are as follows:
- Beran
- Tantegel
- Jahan
- Burwell
The choice of where to go first will come down to many factors, as each location is essential, and has its own unique advantages. We'll show the order we chose, and explain why we chose it below.
Best Destination Order:
The list above represents the order we found to be the most profitable for all players. For us, there are really two options as to where to go first: either Beran or Tantegel. In our first playthrough, we went to Tantagle, but that's only because we didn't know what would happen if we went anywhere else. On our second playthrough, we went to Beran first, and while it was challenging, even on the basic Dragon Quest difficulty level, we were glad we did for one major reason: Beran is where you recruit Matilda, Princess of Canuck, the fourth and final member of the party.
Each of the four locations has something to offer, which we'll lay out below. We'll put them in the order we choose, but we'll also provide a reason why each one can be visited first.
Beran:
- Major items/awards: As mentioned earlier, this is where you recruit the last member of the party. If you're okay with a substantial initial challenge, make this your first stop. Getting Matilda (Princess of Canuck) into your party as early as possible makes all the other challenges much more manageable. Also, you can find Snoop Scroll In the secret location just outside Slewse. Having this ability with Peronel nose for treasure, Makes finding treasures like mini medals and tombola tickets much easier.
Tantegel:
- Major Items/Awards: This location seems to be where they expect you to go first, as it is very close to Rippleport. Here, you get dull sword, Which it actually is Erdric's Sword, Although it is rusted and broken. You need the sword to enter two other important locations. There is also a fair amount of information you learn from the Dragonlord's great grandson.
- Why you visit first: As mentioned, it seems to be intended to be the first place. If you'd rather avoid Beran's challenge and visit a location that allows you to grind a bit before getting an important item, Tantegel is a great option.
Jahan:
- Major Items/Awards: Jahan is probably the least useful place when it comes to where you'll come out of your first visit. However, it establishes an important relationship with mermaids, and can provide a method of leveling-up, as well as setting up good fast-travel points for later use.
- Why you visit first: You really want to visit Zahan first if you're underleveled and need some grinding before even visiting Tantegel or Beran. The first interactions in Zahan are mostly self-contained, and the main story doesn't progress very far. This is a great place to visit before closing the list of the first four places with Burwell.
Burwell:
- Major items/awards: At the end of the Burrowwell quest, you will receive Sun Sigil. We felt that this location was the best to visit last, as it sets things up nicely to enter the next phase of the game, which is collecting the remaining sigils. There is no reason to visit Burwell first.
- Why did you visit before: You can choose to visit Burrowel first to gain the power of the Sun Sigil, which makes the attacks more important. However, there is really no need to do this first. You really want to switch this position with Zahan, and stick with Beran and Tantegel as your first two stops.
After completing these locations, you will begin your journey to collect the remaining sigils, then take on Hargon. While there are still more destinations left, there will once again be a more straightforward order in which you'll be able to complete them. The Only Living Memory side quest offers a lot of freedom in how you choose to complete it.
