After months of waiting, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Here it is, and while it's a divisive and controversial addition to the franchise, there are plenty of gamers diving into the new chapter this weekend. As a long time Call of Duty Announcement for fans Black Ops 7 I felt conflicted. On the one hand, I was intrigued by the futuristic setting and themes of the game, but on the other hand, I thought that some of the choices the developers took might be too risky.
Well, now that Black Ops 7 Here it is, I've played the campaign, and while it has some notable issues, it's a solid time. I know not everyone is interested Call of Duty Campaigns, as they are often incredibly short and sometimes not very fun. Black Ops 7's campaign will certainly not be everyone's cup of tea, but when it comes to its number one competitor, Battlefield 6The former definitely comes out on top.
When it comes to campaigns, Black Ops 7 is more entertaining than Battlefield 6
I enjoyed it Black Ops 7campaign of I said there. It's definitely igniting controversy, as a lot of wild decisions were made during development, but when it comes to the overall experience, I had more fun than I did. Battlefield 6. Don't get me wrong. I had a great time Battlefield 6But only with multiplayer. Enjoy as much as you want Battlefield 6campaign, I just couldn't get locked into the story. For a game with such action-packed multiplayer, excitement really wears off after trying the campaign. There are many fans who were not thrilled Battlefield 6’s campaign, and the franchise has thrived primarily in multiplayer, however, which is not surprising. However, I certainly didn't expect to enjoy it Black Ops 7As much as I did.
Black Ops 7Starring actors Kiernan Shipka, Milo Ventimiglia and Michael Rooker.
I was fully prepared to hate Black Ops 7's campaign
The first trailer for Black Ops 7 Seemed more like a psychological horror than a military shooter, and while I love that kind of story, it wasn't really what I was expecting in the other one. Call of Duty the game However, even though the psychological elements got a little weird and fell flat in the end, the risks Treyarch and Raven Software took often felt refreshing, even if I initially wanted something different.
It took a little getting used to such a different approach to A Call of Duty campaign, but after a while, I stopped thinking about the flaws and just focused on the fun. Black Ops 7The campaign is definitely not a classic Call of Duty experience, and it has already frustrated many players. For me, though, I found myself really intrigued by the developers' perspective of what the landscape of the military and technology world might look like in 10 short years.
Guild's robots are incredibly reminiscent of Boston Dynamics' real-life productions, while reports like Spotify co-founder Daniel Eck investing in AI military company Helsing feel incredibly close to the subject. Black Ops 7 touches Granted, since the campaign only takes about five hours to beat, it's not like the story dives particularly deep into these topics, which is a shame, but it's a fascinating premise that I'd like to learn more about.
Black Ops 7's biggest campaign issues shouldn't be overlooked, though
-
The campaign is online.
-
Players are kicked out of the campaign for inactivity, which is incredibly frustrating.
-
There are no checkpoints in the missions.
Black Ops 7's launch weekend is a defining moment
Competition between battlefield and Call of Duty It's back in full swing this year. No game is perfect by any means, but with Battlefield 6 Being one of the strongest entries in a long time, it certainly holds up Black Ops 7 in a difficult position. Ultimately, the success of any game doesn't determine whether a campaign is good or not. At this point, the campaign Call of Duty and battlefield Games are just an extra dose of action with multiplayer. Out this launch weekend, how Black Ops 7 and Battlefield 6 Both approaches post-launch content will probably be more important than the quality of your campaign down the road.
EA has expressed ambition Battlefield 6 Reach 100 million players. This will be an incredibly difficult goal to reach, especially if Black Ops 7 It finally comes out on top weeks after its launch.

A story doesn't have to be groundbreaking to offer a good time
Yes, I had a good time Black Ops 7campaign, but it is far from an ideal story and experience. It's still a watered-down version of what it could have been, but I applaud the developers for not being afraid to take risks with their approach to level design and difficulty levels. Black Ops 7 Not going to take home any prizes for its story, but I didn't find myself mentally checking out. Battlefield 6And that certainly counts for something. Honestly, it's almost impossible to actually mentally check out when the campaign essentially holds you hostage with a lack of checkpoints and inaction penalties, so maybe that has something to do with it too. Also, before reaching Black Ops 7In Endgame, the campaign itself stands as an interesting story, and while I think it's an interesting take on the finale, it didn't pay off the way I hoped it would.
The campaign is a solid choice for what it is, and it's important to remember that not every story in the game has to be mind blowing. It can only be fun. I've been a gamer for over 20 years at this point, and over the years, I've consistently gravitated towards titles with thought-provoking stories. The last of us, Alan Wake, god of warand Death Stranding There are a few of my favorites, but sometimes it's also beneficial to just sit back, relax, and take in an interesting story that isn't emotionally heavy, and Black Ops 7 It balances well while still featuring a lot of fun gameplay.
