Borderlands 4's Pearlescent Handcannon Gun is massively OP, and farming is a breeze

Border 4The long-awaited Pearlescent update has arrived, and unfortunately, the response to it has been a bit mixed. With most players treating the Mad Alley and the Vault of the Damned expansion as a potential mod for the looter shooter, as it also brings the debut of Vault Hunter C4SH, there was hope that the free Pearlescent update would inject some much-needed life into the game soon. Unfortunately, with only three guns to chase and a questionable method of obtaining them, the update didn't do much to revive it. Border 4.

Still, while Pearlescents' debut isn't as exciting as many had hoped, Weapons is not without merit. Sure, they lack variety – they all offer two elements, meaning that within this loot tier everyone shares the same “unique” attribute – but they're still powerful enough options for their rarity. Border 4 Players can currently obtain the Eigenburst Shotgun, the Vestigial Conflux Sniper, and the Handcannon Pistol. It's that last weapon that stands out, as Eigenburst hits mobs hard and Conflux can be a good boss-killer with the right setup, getting these weapons reliably isn't as easy as getting a handcannon.

Why the Handcannon is a Cut Above Borderlands Other Explosive Weapons

border area' Torg detonation weapons are quite divisive, as everyone finds it unsatisfying to cover the enemy in projectiles that do almost no damage before hitting the detonation button after priming the target. Fortunately, the handcannon eliminates this pain point by making it so that each projectile is constantly pulsing for damage, as opposed to explosions being the only way to get out of the gun with massive damage increases. This constant damage helps DPS while making the gun feel more satisfying to use, and it's especially useful for a Vault Hunter: Harlowe.

Harlow's Critical Funding skill makes it so that she regains ammo for every critical hit, which essentially turns the Handcannon into an OP, endlessly refilling weapon. Players must stack as many projectiles as they can on their enemy before detonating them with the reload button, dealing massive damage with the handcannon and making it a gun. Border 4 Harlow builds. However, what's even better is the fact that copies of the weapon are very easy to obtain. Obtaining god rolls with ideal elements and parts for Vestigial Conflux and Eigenburst can be a brutal grind, as players will have to wait for Ordonite Up! As events unfold (which also only happen when the Vault Hunters are nearby) and hopefully their desired gun drops, mission replay makes handcannon farming a breeze.

Getting Borderlands 4's Handcannon Pearlescent is extremely easy

  • Full Bounty Pack 2.

  • Replay the “Cursed Mine” quest.

  • Clear the Ordonite event without dying.

  • Check the last Ordonite enemy for the Handcannon.

  • Replay the mission for another handcannon roll.

Because players are guaranteed a Handcannon for completing the “Cursed Mine” quest from the Stone Demon Bounty Pack without dying (specifically the Ordonite event section), it's pretty painless to get a copy of the Handcannon with one's ideal parts and elemental override. Players can replay this mission over and over again, with the third and final Ordonite enemy dropping a handcannon for them each time (the first two have a chance to drop other pearlescents, making the farm better, but the handcannon is the only gun the final enemy can drop, making it the centerpiece of the farm). Obviously, there's a chance it'll be patched sooner rather than later; While players were aiming to get the Pearlescent on the first run, mission replays were probably not taken into account by Gearbox, as it makes getting Pearlescents extremely easy.

Still, if players act fast (and own Bounty Pack 2), they can get Handcannon's God Roll before this farm is removed. Handcannon can be really OP on Harlowe while decent on other Vault Hunters, so while there's a sense of frustration around a small Pearlescent lineup and the need to get guns through events rather than some challenging endgame content, don't sleep on this particular weapon. Hopefully, future pearls will be better than the existing ones and have other methods of acquisition, but for now, being able to get a perfect version of the Handcannon early on automatically puts it above other Pearlescents that are much harder to farm.
