Dead as Disco is already securing its spot on my Game of the Year list, as its May 5th Early Access launch date was just announced at the Triple-i Initiative.
If you're into gaming TikTok, chances are good you've seen Dead as Disco before. It's an indie game that has you fighting to the beat of music, like a glorious combo of Sifu and Hi-Fi Rush, and it's been a viral hit since its demo launched last year and let players fight to their own music.
I've spent more time than I care to admit messing around with Dead as a Demo at the Disco with my own questionable tracks, waiting for the day we finally get more information about the full game. That day is finally here, with Disco's Early Access release date just confirmed.
Dead when Disco launches in Early Access on May 5th
Sorry GTA 6, I got a new most anticipated game
Dead Age Disco was one of the many games shown at today's Triple-Eye Initiative Showcase, and developer Brain Jar Games, Inc brought the goods with the announcement everyone has been waiting for – the release date. Dead Edge Disco is launching in Early Access in a few weeks on May 5th.
The incredible trailer that accompanied that announcement (which you can check out above) gave us our best look yet at what Dead as Disco is when you don't drop drum and bass songs to endless disco. Four idols will be available to battle in the Early Access version of the game, along with over 30 streaming-safe songs in the Infinite Disco mode.
The press release for Dead at the Disco's Early Access launch says it includes “the first arc of a rich story campaign,” which likely means there are more statues and story fights.
You'll also be able to restore “The Encore” music club, unlock boss abilities and skill trees from the idols you fight, and customize Charlie Disco with a range of skins, accessories and animations. Considering that this is only an early access launch and Dead as Disco can be almost endless with your own music tracks, this is one. a lot A stacked trajectory that is set to take up the rest of my year.
