summary

  • Destiny 2's Episode 3 Heresy is adding new gameplay elements, weapons and arc aspects.

  • The Bolt Charge buff and new aspects for the Arc subclasses aim to elevate the Arc element to the desires of power players.

  • Changes like Bolt Charge and new aspects are expected to enhance the gameplay on all levels in Destiny 2.

One could argue that the episode was one of the lowest rated in the history of The Revenant Fate 2Community morale was very low after several glitches broke the game. Episode 3 is called Heresy, and will address Hive themes and take players back to The Dreadnought, Oryx's ship, which will become Heresy's new area for missions and exploration. Fate 2's Heresy needs to nail every aspect of its launch, be it in terms of new gameplay additions, weapons, crafting, or other parts of the game. Fortunately, today's TWID post sheds some light on the changes planned for Heresy, and Bungie is finally buffing the game's weakest subclasses.

It's not unusual for Bungie to add some new gameplay elements to a game over time, new releases are the perfect time to do this and generate more hype. After the launch of Fate 2Prismatic subclasses in Final Shape dramatically changed the game's meta, for better or worse, in both PvE and PvP. Prismatic subclasses are probably the strongest in the game because of what they offer, or at least among the best. Solar, Void, and Strand are all powerful, with Stasis being sub-par, and Arc being arguably the worst. Hypocrisy is about to change that, though.

Destiny 2 is buffing arc subclasses, adding new aspects to Heresy

with Fate 2In Episode 3, Bungie is adding a new action called Bolt Charge for the Arc subclasses. It's a buff that increases over time with stacks, unleashes a powerful Lightning Bolt on targets reaching maximum stacks, and is supposed to fill the power fantasy of a devastating damage-dealing tool in Arc subclasses. There are various ways to get a bolt charge, including aspects, fragments, and weapon gains, and then compensating with weapons will build up to 10 stacks. The ability damage will then trigger a lightning bolt from the bolt charge, dealing massive damage to enemies.

On top of Bolt Charge, Bungie is also adding three new factions Fate 2 Subclasses – namely, the On the Prowl aspect for Void Hunters, the Storm Keep aspect for Arch Titans, and the Ionic Sentry aspect for Arch Warlocks. While the Prowl isn't arcane, hunters needn't worry, as they'll be able to get a bolt charge from the following sources:

  • Tempest Strike – Deals a stack of bolt charges when hitting any shock target

  • Disorienting Blow – Now deals a moderate amount of bolt charge stacks when dealing damage

  • Arc Staff – Reflecting an attack provides a stack of bolt charges

It's also worth mentioning that Hunters got a new Arc Aspect with the final shape, called Ascension, while Titans got Unbreakable (Void) and Warlocks got Hellion (Solar).

Destiny 2's new arc aspects explained

As for the new arc sides, they are meant to be used with a bolt charge Fate 2Arch subclasses of the next level. Storm's Keep allows Titans to gain Bolt Charge stacks as well as grant them to nearby allies after casting their Barricade ability, gaining additional stacks by standing behind a barricade and discharging them when reaching 10 with any weapon damage. This is a huge boost for the Titans' offense in the arc, and it allows them to stay away from close quarters if they want to.

Warlocks gain the Ionic Sentry Aspect, which requires charging by defeating enemies before using Arc abilities or weapons. Then, it allows players to send out an Arc Turret that blinds enemies on impact and then chains enemies in an area, delivering bolt charge stacks when enemies are defeated. With blinds, players can easily stay safe Fate 2of endgame content, then build Bolt Charge stacks to deal massive damage to bosses or champions, if needed.

Overall, these additions and changes are possible Fate 2The arc element is very powerful at all levels of play, and is something that arc subclasses desperately need. It remains to be seen how effective the bolt charge will be, but it's a good start for the heresy.
