BRUSSELS, Belgium: A UN Supreme Court ruling that Israel's 57-year occupation of Palestinian land was “illegal” is “largely in line with the EU's position,” the bloc's foreign policy chief said on Saturday. Friday's sweeping opinion by the International Court of Justice in The Hague – which called for an end to the occupation as soon as possible – was immediately criticized by Israel as a “false judgment”.
