In Hero Society My Hero Academia Much depends on the existence of villains who challenge and threaten it. As scary as it sounds, most of the story in My Hero Academia has a kind of symbiosis between the supporting heroes and villains. It gives the heroes a chance to shine, but it also shows the worst that some of these villains can do.
Deku and his Class 1-A classmates have faced many villains in the story of My Hero Academia. Some are more grunt-level, but others are just as tough. Here's how all the main antagonists rank in My Hero Academia.

9
stain
Stan's powers do not distinguish him from other antagonists in the series. Instead, it was his strong ideology that set him apart, his fanatical beliefs leading him to kill and injure various pro-heroes in whom he trusted only for fortune and fame.
Stain's Bloodcurdle Quirk made him an incredibly dangerous foe for any hero unfortunate enough to cross his path. Allowing it to paralyze a target for a certain amount of time, depending on their blood type, Sten was an effective assassin that earned his fearsome nickname.
8
Destruction again
He may not make for an impressive final villain like Shigaraki or One for All, but Re-Destro proves himself to be the most dangerous villain in the latter half of the manga. Beneath his precocious composed exterior, Re-Destro is a volatile maniac who has no qualms about killing anyone who gets in his way.
His twisted personality actually plays well into his Quirk, his Stress Quirk allows him to store any kind of negative emotions such as fear, anger and frustration, and turn it into a power he can use in battle. This reveals him to have incredible power, and elevates him to a monstrous form.
7
Lady Nagant
Lady Nagant certainly had one of the best villain character arcs in the series, with fans seeing her hit rock bottom and later thanks to Deku's positive influence.
Her confusion towards Hero Society and its many problems has led her to become a skilled gun for hire, and while it may not seem impressive next to other abilities in the series, Lady Nagant has mastered her Quirk abilities which make her an incredibly tough fighter.
6
Overhaul
Overhaul is certainly one of the most hated villains in the series, with Ari's treatment earning him a much-deserved bad reputation among fans. But you can't deny that he was a dangerous villain in his own right.
Overhaul's brutality certainly plays a role in him being such a threat, but the real danger with him is his Overhaul quirk. The ability allows him to detach and reassemble anything that has been detached, making him one of the most dangerous close-range fighters in the anime and manga. The only way around his abilities was to destroy his weapons, which Shigaraki and Mr. Compress managed to pull off.
5
Himiko Toga
Toga is a polarizing character My Hero Academia. She gets a good amount of exposition and ends up being a good villain, which has made many fans sympathize with her situation. On the other hand, some fans don't see him as an excuse for more heinous acts like murder.
Although it didn't seem all that dangerous in battle at first, Toga gradually became more and more adept at using her Transform Quirk, making her a real force during the final battle. His Quirk not only allowed him to duplicate his human appearance, but in very specific cases could also allow him to copy his Quirks, although this came at a great physical cost to him.
4
Gigantomachia
Perhaps the most physically imposing villain in the series, there weren't many heroes who would be able to match Gigantomachia and live to tell the tale. The giant villain was incredibly loyal to One for All, and that loyalty was later transferred to Shigarkin.
As one of All For One's most prized possessions, Gigantomachia was gifted with several Quirks along with the one he was born with. Everything from superhuman endurance, pain inhibitors, heightened senses, and strength boosters made Gigantomachia an absolute nightmare to deal with.
3
the left
Dabi is certainly a tragic character, but like much of Toga, her actions are hard to defend. As the older Todoroki brother, Dabi was caught up in his father's obsession with surpassing All Might and becoming the #1 Pro Hero. When Dabi fails to live up to her father's expectations, and Endeavor turns to Shoto, it breaks young Toya and sets her down a path of villainy.
Dabi's Blueflame Quirk became stronger than her father's Hellflame Quirk, Dabi served as one of the series' most dangerous and unpredictable villains. This led to the entire Todoroki family winning over him, marking a tragic end to their ill-fated family drama.
2
All for one
The #1 big bad for most of the series, All For One My Hero is about as bad as it gets when it comes to villains. A relatively simple character for everyone, compared to most villains in the series, his ambition to rule the world kept him going for decades.
His All For One Quirk allows him to steal and transfer other people's Quirks and abilities, allowing him to amass an impressive repertoire of Quirks as well as surrounding him with powerful allies. His vast arsenal of abilities, coupled with his threat to steal anyone's Quirk, made him the greatest threat the world had ever seen.
1
Shigaraki
One for all ruined many lives over the years. But you could argue that no one was dealt as bad a hand as Cigaraki. The tragedies of his early life shaped him, and his taking under the wing of one for all, for all was orchestrated before he was even born. This is true of many villains in the series, but Shigaraki never had the chance to be different than he did.
By the end of the series, Shigaraki had surpassed his master, his Decay Quirk working together with All For One and other Quirks, making him a more volatile and determined threat than All For One. In his final battle with Deku, Sigaraki displayed incredible destructive power, and even with the full use of One for All, Deku struggled to bring down the leader of the League of Villains.
