Every Member of My Hero Academia’s League of Villains, Ranked From Weakest to Strongest

My Hero Academia introduced the League of Villains early on as the dark and dangerous counterpart to class 1-A. It’s common for shonen action anime to feature villain teams like the Akatsuki and Phantom Troupe, and the League of Villains measures up as a vicious gang of criminals with Quirks to match. The question is who ranks among the strongest League members, and what they are capable of.

As seen in My Hero Academia‘s first season, the League had a lot of fluff members like Tesla and Needle Hair, along with a number of Nomu, to pad their numbers and threaten UA. Not long after that, the League was trimmed down to its most elite and worthwhile members, and it’s easy for My Hero Academia fans to sort them by combat power and Quirk mastery. The end results make it clear why some League of Villains members threatened the heroes in every season, while others were written out after one or two battles.

Spinner Represented the Plight of Heteromorphs

The lizard-like Spinner ranks last among the notable League of Villains Members because his Quirk doesn’t give him a whole lot of combat power. He did get stronger after gaining new Quirks in the final war, but not even that made him a major threat. Spinner faced his final defeat when battling Mezo Shoji and Koji Koda, neither of whom is anywhere near Class 1-A’s strongest students.

6 Most Important My Hero Academia Characters (Right Now)

My Hero Academia might be over, but these characters are still driving things forward in 2026.

The strongest aspect of Spinner was his symbolism. He wasn’t entirely wrong to hate society and lead a destructive march of the heteromorphs, since society really was unfair toward their kind. Spinner was the face of the heteromorph rage seething in the shadows, and the resentment boiled over into morally fuzzy aggression when the time was right.

Magne Blended Martial Arts With Magnetism to Fight

Quirk: Magnetism

  • Magne didn’t spend much screen time actually fighting, so there’s no telling if she had the potential to awaken her Quirk or not. Still, My Hero Academia fans saw enough to confirm how dangerous Magne was as a skilled martial artist with a thirst for blood, having already killed a number of people by the time she fought Tiger.

Magne’s Magnetism Quirk didn’t get a fair chance to show its full potential on-screen, though viewers did get the idea, and they could see how useful Magnetism can be. It’s ideal for drawing fleeing victims back so Magne can attack them, and it can even repel same-sex people to move them around at great speed on the battlefield. It’s one of those Quirks that rewards the user for using resourceful thinking on the fly.

Mr. Compress Adds Some Sneaky Flair to the League of Villains

Quirk: Compress

Not all Quirks require blunt hitting power to be helpful assets to the League of Villains. This group may be comprised of aggressive criminals who love picking fights, yet there’s still room — and a need — for some underhanded tricks. That’s a great way to take both the heroes and anime fans by surprise, which doubles the fun.

Mr. Compress obliges with his Compress Quirk, which can do anything from kidnap people like Bakugo to covertly smuggle people or objects anywhere. Mr. Compress’s Quirk can also blindside his enemies by suddenly decompressing large items like cars to perform split-second attacks or create barriers as needed.

Muscular is the Brutish Berserker of the League of Villains

While villains like Mr. Compress are necessary to surprise the heroes and pull off sneaky tricks, the League of Villains still needs brute-force fighters to challenge the heroes and shield other League members from harm. That’s why the League has Muscular, though it’s a shame he didn’t use his hardened muscles to protect his allies from harm. Instead, he fought solo, for good or ill.

Muscular is overwhelmingly dangerous up close when using his Pump Up Quirk, which expands and strengthens his muscles many times over. His muscle tissue can even double as a steely shield to make him more like Eijiro Kirishima, allowing Muscular to outlast most foes. What holds him back is how Muscular has few ranged options, and tricky Quirks that function more like magic spells can get the better of him. Not all fights are power vs power, after all.

Twice Became a Real Powerhouse After Awakening His Quirk

Quirk: Double

When he first appeared in My Hero Academia‘s earlier seasons, the Deadpool-like villain Twice was only moderately dangerous as someone who could multiply with his Double Quirk. With it, he can control the battlefield by blocking the enemy’s escape or shielding allies from harm, and he can even make doubles of his allies if need be.

Can you really call yourself a My Hero Academia fan if you haven’t watched these perfect 10/10 episodes?

What makes Twice rank highly among the League’s members is the fact he awakened that Double Quirk of his. It was one of several Quirk awakenings among the League’s members, to the point he could flood the battlefield with thousands of clones via Sad Man’s Parade. That’s how Twice survived the fight against the Meta Liberation Army, and it was the reason Himiko managed to be even more dangerous when using Double for herself.

Himiko Toga Took Twice’s Fighting Style to the Next Level:

Quirk: Transform

Like her good friend Twice, Himiko Toga was dangerous but not particularly lethal when she first appeared in My Hero Academia. She was more like Mr. Compress at the time, using her Quirk for tricky purposes rather than clobbering the heroes with sheer force. Her Transform Quirk was the key to fooling Deku in the Provisional Hero License Exam, and it made her a real threat in the Shie Hassaikai Arc, too.

Himiko shot up the rankings of power and lethality when she awakened her Quirk as well. When awakened, Transform could mimic other people’s Quirks if Himiko cared enough about them, hence her usage of both Zero Gravity and Double. Himiko impressed fans when she dropped Curious to her death via Zero Gravity, but the real power arrived when Himiko enhanced Double even further to create Sad Man’s Death Parade.

Dabi Was Ready to Destroy Himself to Incinerate the Hero World

Quirk: Blueflame

Of all of Endeavor’s children, only Shoto inherited the ideal combination of Quirks and elemental resistances in Half-Cold Half-Hot. Fuyumi and Natsuo had too little power with their genes, and Toya Todoroki had the power but not the means to handle it. In particular, Toya/Dabi is a more fragile version of his father, having fierce fire powers but limited resistance to his own heat. Crucially, Endeavor is careful and smart with his fire-based Quirk, but Dabi is not.

Much the inverse, Dabi was ready and willing to destroy himself to incinerate his pro hero father’s world. Even if Dabi would have died in the process, the fact he can become such a powerful living bomb is terrifying, and it means he ranks high among the League of Villains’ most formidable fighters.

Gigantomachia Towers Over all the Heroes and Villains

Like Muscular, the hulking villain Gigantomachia is all about power, but he scales it all up, so he’s more powerful than Muscular ever was. As durable and hard-hitting as Muscular may be, Gigantomachia is a true beast, a kaiju-sized villain who served as All For One’s and Tomura’s bodyguard.

6 My Hero Academia Characters Who Deserved Better Endings

These My Hero Academia characters really got the short end of the stick when it came to how their stories ended.

Gigantomachia, unlike Muscular, can also provide transport for several League members at once, given his size and speed. On top of that, he was given more Quirks to expand his fighting style even more, to the point it took all of classes 1-A and 1-B to stop him. Notably, Tomura never defeated Gigantomachia during their training, but Tomura probably could have defeated Muscular.

Tomura Shigaraki Awakened His Quirk and Gained a Whole Lot More in Dr. Garaki’s Lab

Quirk: Decay

Tomura Shigaraki stops just short of his dark mentor’s power to become the #2 member of the League of Villains. From the start, Tomura was a grave threat to all pro heroes and hero students with his Decay Quirk, which could kill people with enough contact. Then, Tomura awakened Decay to become capable of turning entire battlefields to dust, which was how he took down the huge Re-Destro in Deika City.

From there, Tomura kept powering up as All For One’s heir as the budding symbol of fear. He didn’t quite reach All For One’s power levels, but Tomura came close, and he made good use of the extra Quirks he got from Dr. Garaki’s experiments. Uniquely, Tomura started using huge formations of giant fingers to fight, granting him serious power even when Eraser Head and Neito Monoma used Erasure to shut down Tomura’s Quirk collection.

All For One is the Eternal Symbol of Evil

Quirk: All For One

For decades, and right to the moment of his defeat, the sinister All For One was the most powerful villain alive and was certainly the top fighter among the League of Villains. His enormous collection of battle-worthy Quirks could not be matched, making him an entire villain league by himself, and that’s how he nearly defeated All Might multiple times.

Giving All For One yet another edge in battle is his vast experience, since he’s been fighting with and against various Quirks for a long time. No one can match All For One’s well-earned intuition and knowledge with Quirks, meaning he can easily counter most Quirk-based strategies while making crafty use of his own supernatural gifts. Now that he is gone, no one like that might ever appear again, meaning roughly two lifetimes’ worth of Quirk wisdom died with All For One.
