Every Time Vegeta Died (And Who Killed Him)

Death comes to everyone – often more than once if you are unfortunate enough to have one Dragon Ball Character. At this point, every member of the Z-Fighters has died more than once, especially considering the spin-offs and alternate timelines. Worryingly, Vegeta has actually died more than once between Krillin Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Superand Dragon Ball Online.

Vegeta's death tends to be the most interesting, emotional and dramatic of all. Dragon BallUsually to raise the stakes rather than having shock value to say something about your character. Like Goku, Vegeta is one of the few characters at least responsible for his own death, but he's lost his life to several villains—and even his greatest rival, according to Dragon Ball Online.

Frieza kills Vegeta in Namek

Vegeta dies for the first time in Namek. After Dende boosts his genkai while healing him, Vegeta mistakenly believes that this power-up is enough to help him fight Frieza. He couldn't be more wrong. Faster and stronger than the prince of all Saiyans, Frieza immediately begins toying with Vegeta, as he beats him to near death.

Frieza beats up Vegeta, strangling him causing his body to break and bleed to the ground. Vegeta is left in tears, as he urges Goku to avenge the Saiyan. Frieza eventually kills Vegeta with a death beam in the chest, piercing his heart. Goku gives Vegeta a peaceful burial on Namek as he takes the pride of all Saiyans, and begins the final battle with Frieza.

Future Androids 17 and 18 kill Super Saiyan Vegeta in Trunks' timeline

Future vegetable death

In Future Trunks' timeline, Vegeta is one of the first Z-Fighters to die in a fight with an android (the second death after Piccolo's first). After Goku's death from a heart virus, Vegeta manages to unlock the Super Saiyan, becoming Earth's strongest hero when Android 17 and 18 awaken.

Unfortunately, Future Vegeta didn't have the head-start of a main timeline counterpart for Androids. Future Vegeta is easily killed by Future Androids 17 and 18 in their battle. A flashback to Dragon Ball Z The anime shows Future Vegeta being specifically killed by Android 17's Photon Flash.

Majin Vegeta in Dragon Ball Z
Mazin vegetables

Majin Buu Saga is the lowest for vegetables. After Goku returns to Earth for a day, Vegeta quickly falls into a mid-life crisis as he realizes his rival is far stronger than he will ever be. Allowing himself to be possessed by Babidi, Vegeta gains massive power and begins acting as he did in the Saiyan Saga – innocently killing innocents and leading Goku into a life-or-death battle.

After Goku talks sense into Vegeta by reminding him of his love for Bulma and Trunks, Vegeta knocks Goku out and takes it upon himself to kill Majin Buu. Outclassed by Buu, Vegeta has no choice but to put all of his Ki into one final attack: his Final Atonement. Vegeta self-destructs, knowing that he is sure to go to Hell for everything he has done. Vegeta fails to kill Buu, but he proves a true hero by sacrificing himself.

Frieza flies Vegeta to the rest of the Earth

in Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection fwho points out that Vegeta's fatal flaw is the fact that he thinks too much. In the final battle of the film, Vegeta has Golden Frieza on a rope and comes very close to killing him. Frieza Super Saiyan Blue can't do anything against Vegeta's overwhelming power, but as foreshadowed earlier in the film, Vegeta is taking too long and overthinking.

Playing with Frieza, Vegeta gives the Tyrant a perfect window to wipe out the Earth, destroying Vegeta with it. Which rewinds time enough so Goku can kill Frieza with Kamehameha before he can destroy the planet. Vegeta is clearly angry that he didn't get a chance to kill Frieza, inadvertently wasting his only chance.

Goku and Vegeta kill each other in the future of Dragon Ball Online

Akira Toriyama wrote the timeline for the MMORPG Dragon Ball Online Which describes the fate of all major Z-fighters. In age 801, Goku and Vegeta fly into outer space for one final battle, knowing they are in their prime and at the end of their lives. Their final battle was never seen, but years later, a supernova was released for Goku and Vegeta in almost the same area.

One thing is certain about their final battle: neither Goku nor Vegeta returns. In reality, Goku and Vegeta killed each in their final battle, specifically leaving them to fight to the death. If their last fight was anything to go by Dragon Ball Super: Super HeroThey both drained each other's full energy, victorious after victory slowly falling.
