He was the one who overcame the six paths of suffering Naruto Shippuden's best arc, and he even dismembered the supposedly immortal Kakuzu with his Rasenshuriken. Naruto also played a role in the defeat of Kabuto Yakushi and he even fought Gaara during Operation Konoha Cross. But not every great victory can be traced back to Naruto himself.
How many villains live Naruto anime, it only makes sense that the rest of the heroes and even some of the villains had to pick up the slack. Naruto is strong, but he can't be everywhere at once, even with all his shadow clones. That's why some great villains fall when someone else takes center stage. Naruto: How Studio Pierrot Destroyed One of the Series' Greatest Characters
Studio Pierrot completely tarnished Sakura Haruno's reputation with its stupid decisions.
Kisame Hoshigaki took his own life to protect his Intel
Even Naruto would have a hard time defeating Kisame for good
Many members of the Akatsuki organization were either defeated by non-Naruto opponents or ended their own lives. This includes the shark-themed brute Kisame Hoshigaki, who shared little screen time with Naruto. Kisame fought characters like Kakashi and Mad Guy, and he did well the entire time. Then, when Kisame was cornered, he was forced to make a tough choice.
Kisame had valuable information about the Akatsuki, so as a true ninja, he chose to prioritize that intel in his life. In a way, that was an early callback Naruto episodes, where self-sacrifice, intel, and stealth were the main pillars of ninja action. As Ibiki Morino did, Kisame chose death over exposing his intelligence, thus his decision to destroy himself with a water shark.
Itachi Uchiha allowed himself to die while fighting his beloved brother
Itachi's death led to the truth of his strange life
Among the most productive and effective Akatsuki members were the three Uchihas, including Itachi himself. He was one of the first members to ever appear, and he intrigued fans with his cool, mysterious manner. However, even if he once tried to capture Naruto for the sake of duty, Itachi did more business with his brother.
7 Strongest Kage In Naruto (Including Hokage)
Konoha had many powerful ravens. Naruto still has very strong hinges from outside of Konoha.
Naruto failed to defeat Itachi during their brief skirmish, so it fell to Sasuke to take on the elite villain. The brothers famously fought to the death with their Mangekyo Sharingan, but remarkably, Sasuke didn't finish the job. It's possible Sasuke could not Won in a fair fight, but it didn't matter as Itachi chose to die. After that, Itachi left his legacy to Sasuke, only for Sasuke to turn it monstrous with Obito's influence.
Orochimaru ended up trying to absorb Sasuke
Orochimaru's death felt a bit ironic
It's common for a shonen hero and an overarching villain to fight to the death and care a lot about each other's appearance, but not always. Orochimaru the Sannin was only interested in Naruto, while focusing heavily on Sasuke. Orochimaru coveted the Sharingan Eye, and if he couldn't get Itachi's, surely he would get Sasuke's instead.
This quest for the Sharingan power contributed to Orochimaru's downfall, which can also be interpreted as more plot armor for the entire Uchiha clan. Orochimaru was kidding himself if he thought he would give Sasuke his power and then absorb him, because Sasuke didn't take kindly to such things. Orochimaru absorbed into Sasuke, an ironic reversal that made Sasuke even stronger.
Deidara is one of Sasuke's many victims in Shippuden
Deidara chose destruction in defeat at the hands of Sasuke
The explosive Deidara is another Akatsuki member who had little business with Naruto Uzumaki, so the two didn't clash much. Deidara burst onto the scene when he captured Gaara in a hidden sand village, and then, like many Akatsuki members, he ended up fighting Sasuke. Deidara was confident that his KKK Genkai could win, but Sasuke's jutsu was too strong.
Deidara ended up being another villain who allowed himself to die, but unlike Itachi, who died for personal reasons, Deidara gave his life regardless. He was determined to destroy Sasuke, hence his final explosion, but thanks to Manda's sacrifice, Sasuke survived. It's more plot armor for Sasuke and a reminder that no villain, however driven, can defeat Naruto's former friend.
Hidan was dealt with after Shikamaru took revenge
No one will ever find what's left of Hidan
Naruto personally dispatched half of Akatsuki's “Immortal Duo” with his powerful new Rasenshuriken, but it was not up to him to defeat both villains. Given the new found vendetta between Shikamaru and Hidan it would have really bothered Shikamaru if Naruto had defeated Hidan as well. Hidan had killed Asuma Sarutobi, so of course Shikamaru wanted revenge.
Naruto: How Kishimoto Ruined Naruto's Biggest Moment, Explained
Kishimoto ignored the most important moment in Naruto's life.
Only with his advanced tactics and jutsu could Shikamaru overcome Hidan's immortality and blood-based jutsu. It was extremely satisfying to see Shikamaru's clever tactics in play once again, especially to avenge Asuma's untimely death on the battlefield.
Sasori couldn't stand the power of Sakura's fists
Sasori also gave Sakura a generous parting gift
As a jinchūriki, Naruto was a target for the entire Akatsuki organization, but he could not actually fight most of its members. Among other heroes Naruto Instead, take care. As Naruto searched for Gaara, it fell to Sakura to take care of Sasori with the help of Chiyo, and this was Sakura's chance to shine on the battlefield.
All credit goes to Sakura Haruno and Chiyo as they fought the ultimate puppet jutsu master in that cave. The battle was a close one, but Sakura prevailed with her indomitable spirit and strength. Interestingly, and perhaps out of intrigue, Sasori felt magnanimous enough to give the victorious Sakura some information about Orochimaru's planned meeting with him on the bridge. This ensured that the story would continue and Sakura's victory could count for a lot of that.
Conan died a redeemed hero fighting Toby
Konan gave his life for Naruto and Jiraiya's cause
Konan is yet another Akatsuki member who couldn't seriously fight Naruto, much less lose to him. On the contrary, Konan emerged victorious after Naruto gave both Nagato and Konan his “talk jutsu” after Penn's fall. This was a rare and much needed example of an Akatsuki member reviving his inner kindness to believe in good things.
5 Things Naruto Does Better Than All Other Shonen Anime
These areas are where Naruto completely dominates all shonen anime. No one comes close.
Unfortunately, Conan didn't spend much time after his release. Switching sides put him in Obito's crosshairs, and he couldn't escape it. Konan put up a good fight against Obito, but she met her end, and she had to die praying that Naruto's dream of his mentor Jiraiya would come true.
Madara Uchiha got a nasty surprise when the black zetsu took a step
It is uncertain if Naruto could defeat Madara
Naruto defeated and redeemed Obito Uchiha as the fake Madara, but the real Madara Uchiha had a different story. He was beyond redemption as a vengeful, ancient shinobi who could single-handedly fight entire armies, and it was clear that no amount of “talk jutsu” could reach him. Instead, Naruto had to fight another Uchiha to save the world, and this time, things turned out very differently than any of his fights with Sasuke or Obito.
Naruto and his friends gave it their all, but a last minute move by Black Zetsu took away their potential victory. This heralded the arrival of Kaguya Otsutsuki as a super villain who kicked Madara to the side, meaning Naruto never won against Madara. It is a terrifying possibility that Naruto will never be able to defeat Madara, given the latter's titanic strength.
