It's almost time for the second season of Fallout – Lucy and the Ghoul land in Robert House's fantasy land of New Vegas on December 17. However, five days before that, there's a very cool Fallout: New Vegas Custom Campaign release.
Fallout: Long 15 is an NCR-themed expansion set on the eponymous Long 15 highway between the Mojave and The Divide, the setting of Lonesome Road. In that extension, Long 15 is only accessible if a courier has dropped a nuclear bomb on the location, meaning everything is irradiated and every inhabitant of the area is repulsed.
For the Republic
The result: Lonesome Road takes a long 15 stops before making a disastrous choice, meaning the highway is still a thriving trade route operated by the New California Republic during the adaptation campaign.
Long 15 has already released an hour of footage, complete with a very impressive voice acting. The NCR has a large presence on the highway, manning various forts and outposts along the road. As always, there are also some quirky characters for the player to interact with.
A fascinating reveal trailer (above) was released a few days ago, and it's honestly a pretty impressive sizzle reel. The trailer is accompanied by some great voice acting, including one of those aforementioned eccentric characters.
Long 15 is actually the follow-up to Dry Wells, the first expansion from mod author ToxicWhiteout. During Lonesome Road, Couriers can drop bombs on Long 15 (NCR-controlled) or Dry Wells (Legion-controlled). The expansion Dry Wells is similar to Fallout: Long 15, in that you can visit the titular area before the apocalypse.
Dry Wells adds more content to the Legion-controlled areas of vanilla New Vegas, with ToxicWhiteout promising around 6 hours of content. Long 15 is a much larger set than its predecessor, with 20 hours of content and a map ten times larger than Dry Wells.
Long 15, between Fallout 76's upcoming show-themed expansion Burning Springs and the second season of the Fallout television show, December will be a heavenly time for fans of Bethesda's (and Interplay, Black Isle and… Obsidian's) post-apocalyptic world.
