Fighting Souls adds Penny Parker to Spider-Man's team

Penny Parker (and her SP//dr mech, of course) has been confirmed as the final member of Spider-Man's team, The Amazing Guardians, in Marvel Token: Fighting Souls.

How did you feel afterwards? Incredibly After a long time without any kind of news on Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, Arc System Works has finally been sharing about the game for the past month or so. Last month's PlayStation State of Play not only gave us a release date for the game, but also revealed a bunch of new characters like Wolverine and Danger.

It confirmed that Marvel Token is pairing its characters into teams of four, leading to a lot of speculation about who will join the other and how they'll tie into their respective teams. Spider-Man's team-up was especially exciting because there are so many possibilities, and we finally know who the final member is.

Marvel Token is adding Penny Parker, and of course she's on Spider-Man's team.

I guess the “Dimensions” tease wasn't about the guest characters

Earlier today, the official Marvel Token Twitter account shared the message, “Every helping hand is welcome, even those from another dimension.” This raised a lot of eyebrows and made everyone wonder if Arc System Works was going to either reveal a guest character or bring in everyone's favorite dimension-hopper, Miles Morales.

It turns out, though, that the tease was actually for Penny Parker, who was just revealed in a new trailer for Marvel Token. Penny is the last member of the team led by Spider-Man, The Amazing Guardians, which consists of Peter Parker, Penny Parker, Kamala Khan and, surprisingly, Star-Lord. Not sure why he's here, but we'll roll with it.

A stage based on Knowhere is also confirmed in the new trailer.

Based on the footage, Penny is a heavy fighter who relies on SP//dr's strength and size in battle, while also having a wide range of different gadgets to match her move set. As much as I'd like to see Miles Morales in the game, it's hard to argue that Penny is a more interesting choice from the Spider-Verse, so I'm curious to see what she's about.
