Gunnar's Clear Pro lenses are an artist's dream come true
The standout Gunnar product presented at CES this year was undoubtedly the brand's Clear Pro lens, which is currently available in various collections – Muir, Humboldt, Pacifica, Palomar, Pismo and Tahoe. Gunnar's Clear Pro Lens was developed after demand from graphic designers and other creatives who needed the company's patented lens technology, but without color change, their screens were prone to misinterpretation of colors.
As their name suggests, Gunnar's Clear Pro lenses are fully clear, offering the same technology and features as the brand's other lens variations, including its signature amber tint. Gunnar's Clear Pro lenses are also available for those who need prescription glasses, which ultimately increases their appeal and further increases their reach.
Gunnar is expanding its mineral glass selection
In the vein of clear lenses, Gunnar is expanding its mineral glass offerings with a new purity collection, set to launch in May. Using the same material found in high-end cameras and telescopes, Gunnar's mineral glass lenses eliminate refraction, rainbow effects, and image distortion, resulting in unparalleled visual clarity.
At CES, Gunnar unveiled the first product in the Purity Collection, Tioga, which features the brand's popular mineral glass lenses housed in a lightweight, round acetate and reclaimed wood frame, with German spring hinges for the earpieces. After the Purity collection launches in May, the Tioga line will be available in amber and clear pro mineral glass for a retail price of around $250.
Gunnar's new sun-shift and visor models balance compatibility and comfort
Some of Gunnar's more distinctive offerings on display include the brand's new sun-shift and visor models. The sun-shift model is a collaboration with Activision and Call of DutyAptly named “Call of Duty Ghost Edition” and it's currently available for purchase. These glasses come with a military-inspired aviator frame made of premium-engineered polymer and stainless steel to provide a sleek look and maximum durability. While the lenses are Gunnar's signature amber tint, they can change to a sunglass tint when outdoors in about 15 seconds and then back to amber after 15 minutes of being indoors.
Gunnar's Viscer model isn't here yet, as the company aims to launch it in March this year. This particular model of goggles is similar to ski/snowboard goggles, in that they feature wide lenses designed to prevent dry eyes by limiting airflow. Ultimately, Gunnar sees these e-sports as more appealing to the crowd, but they still offer something unique that anyone can benefit from.
