Like the others, the Third Great Ninja War caused widespread destruction and turned the entire world upside down. All major Naruto Small villages were also involved in the clashes. The Hidden Leaf Village also took part in the Third Great Ninja War. However, the village struggled a lot, but thankfully, there was one person who turned the tide in their favor, and that was none other than Minato Namikaze.

  • His strength enabled him to stop the war

Ever since his days at the academy, Minato Namikaze had always stood out from the rest, and as he grew up, it became even more apparent that he was going to realize his full potential. Minato passed every single test leaving all his opponents in the dust. After Jiraiya's training the next phase of his development began. A member of the Legendary Sannin recognized Minato's abilities, and this led him to believe that he had finally found the child of prophecy.

Since Minato was a genius, it didn't take long for him to learn. He also created the Rasengan, a powerful technique that can easily destroy his enemies. Minato also perfected the Flying Thunder technique, making him faster and more dangerous. He can seal anywhere and instantly teleport to the location. After mastering the Flying Thunder God technique, Minato became known as the fastest ninja alive. Minato often used the Rasengan along with his space-time ninjutsu to capture his enemies and inflict devastating blows on them. With so many powerful tools in his arsenal, Minato was a nightmare to fight against. Naturally, a ninja of his caliber was always going to play a role in any battle, so it's no surprise that he was heavily involved in the Third Great Ninja War.

During the Third Great Ninja War, Minato was not Hokage, but he was easily the most important person behind the Hidden Leaf's success. While Minato was famous in the village, his fame began to spread during the war. Ninjas from all over the world came to learn of a certain ninja called Minato Namikaze, who would end the feud in an instant. After some time, he earned the moniker of the Yellow Flash of the Hidden Leaf. When the other ninja saw Minato's power, they often ran away in despair. At one point, higher-ups from other villages issued orders to their soldiers to flee. This meant that the ninjas had to flee immediately if they saw Minato Namikaze.

Despite the best efforts of the other villages, they were unable to contain Minato. As the tide slowly turned in favor of the Hidden Leaf, the other nations felt compelled to accept any peace proposals. In the anime, Minato brought down a platoon of a thousand ninja by himself, forcing the Tsuchikage to accept a peace treaty. Hiruzen tried to form various treaties to promote peace, and this decision did not sit well with the Hidden Leaf others, leading to the end of the war.

The conclusion of the Third Great Ninja War brought relief to countless people, but for some, it had a never-ending impact. Itachi was still a child during the war, and seeing so much bloodshed completely traumatized him. He grew up to hate conflict and always looked for the least violent way to solve a problem. Meanwhile, Fugaku and the rest of the Uchiha clan's hatred for the Hidden Leaf reached an all-time high. Eventually, this will lead to the clan planning the coup.

However, the standout event during the Third Great Ninja War was Rin's death. When Obito saw her die, it strengthened his resolve and led him directly into Madara's hands. Later, Obito attacked the Hidden Leaf and then manipulated the Akatsuki before starting the Fourth Great Ninja War with the help of Kabuto Yakushi.

After the conclusion of the war, Minato Namikaze was chosen as the fourth Hokage of the Hidden Leaf. His efforts in the Third Great Ninja War impressed the village elders and the general public. Due to his immense popularity, Minato was selected as Hokage. Not long after Minato became the leader of the Hidden Leaf, he faced Obito's attack on the Hidden Leaf. The latter planned to use the Nine-Tails to wreak havoc on the village.

Obito managed to take out the tailed beast, but Minato was there to stop him. The Uchiha tried to fight against his old teacher, but was unsuccessful. Minato was above him in terms of skill and power. However, he could not stop the attack of the nine tails. So, Minato sacrificed his life and sealed half of the Nine Tails inside Naruto and the other inside himself. Thanks to his efforts, the hidden leaf was again saved from destruction. Minato's end was certainly tragic, but he went down in history as the greatest man on earth. Furthermore, his decision to entrust Naruto with the tailed beast was an integral part of the overall story. If he hadn't believed in his son, the world would have ultimately fallen to Obito or Madara Uchiha.

The world would have changed dramatically if Minato hadn't died

Minato and Kushina sacrificed for Naruto.

If Minato had lived, things would probably have been very different. Obito would have been crushed, and he wouldn't have had a chance to manipulate the Akatsuki. So, there wouldn't have been a Fourth Great Ninja War. Additionally, it is highly unlikely that the Uchiha clan was massacred. Minato was more action oriented than Hiruzen, so he wouldn't stand idly by while Danzo tried to force Itachi and Shisui. Therefore, the Uchiha Clan might not have been massacred, and Sasuke would not have suffered severe emotional trauma. Besides, Itachi Uchiha would still be in the Hidden Leaf. But above all, Naruto would at least have his parents, and he wouldn't suffer at the hands of the villagers.

Shut up about fate and how people can't change!

Despite the short reign and very limited screen time, Minato is undoubtedly one of Naruto's most popular characters, and Kishimoto realized this, so he decided to make a short spin-off story about the Yellow Flash. With the Boruto manga struggling, Kishimoto has a good chance of creating a prequel to Naruto, which will focus on Minato and his journey. It also doesn't have to be long, and there's no doubt that many fans will prefer it to the current Boruto manga.
