How to beat the AFK gaming challenge on Megabonk
Before trying the AFK gaming challenge on megabunkPlayers must ensure that they understand the rules of the challenge. In the AFK Gaming Challenge, Players will not be able to move or jump.
The only movement they are allowed is to turn. This means that the WASD and space keys will not work, but gamers can still use their mouse to move their characters. This allows them to target certain enemies based on their chosen weapons, but they will have very limited control.
To complete the AFK Gaming challenge, players must survive to the last swarm. Therefore, they must survive without walking or jumping for a total of 10 minutes. Below, players will find helpful tips that will prepare them for this feat.
Best builds for the AFK Gaming Challenge on Megabonk
Since players cannot move during an AFK gaming challenge, they will quickly find themselves surrounded by enemies coming from all sides. Additionally, they don't gain access to much XP since they can't move to reach the shards, so they'll often be stuck with their first weapon for a while.
For these reasons, players should take into account the strength and default weapon of the character they select. Two characters have a clear advantage in the AFK Gaming Challenge, and that's it megachad and Athena. On top of having access to weapons that are especially useful early in the run, their character abilities come in very handy.

Athena/Aegis – AFK Gaming Challenge Strategy
The AegisAthena's default weapon is a risky choice, as enemies must get up close and personal with this character in order to damage them. However, this makes leveling up a lot easier, as they will kill enough to grab the XP shards they drop on death.
Although Aegis is her default character, this is not necessarily the case with Athena. However, she's a great character for this because her ability gives her thorns every time she levels up and deals more damage to her contract if her health is low, making it easier to survive in the early game if too many monsters hit her.
The Cooldown Tome and The Knockback Tome A good combo with Aegis, as they will push enemies away and give you some time to recharge a weapon like a shield.
Megachad/Aura – AFK Gaming Challenge Strategy
MegaChad's default weapon is aurawhich creates a protective zone around him that damages those who enter it. This makes Megachad much easier to survive in the early game, when the weakest enemies appear. If that wasn't enough he can flex on enemies, which prevents them from dealing any damage and stuns them.
Once players pick up their first XP shards, they should not immediately invest in Aura. They need to get an alternate weapon so they can do more damage to enemies or get closer Charm TomeSo they are able to catch the XP shards that fall away from Megachad.
Players don't want too many weapons here, as they need to invest in strengthening the stronger enemies they have to fight them when they appear. In the forest, players will encounter early, slow-moving mobs, and the enemies may vary. Then, they'll face a mini-boss being chased by a swarm. After that, the enemies slowly start moving in. Finally, a swarm will appear after another mini-boss.
It's important for players to know the timing of each attack, so it doesn't surprise them. They must have weapons that are strong enough to take out a boss without being killed but be able to take on enough monsters at once to avoid being overwhelmed by the swarm. Here is the exact timing of each attack on the forest map:
- 7:00 – First mini-boss
- 6:00 – First flock
- 3:00 – Second herd
- 2:00 – Second mini-boss
- 0:00 – Last bunch
The horde of monsters will vary, and the challenge can be significantly harder depending on the first enemies that appear. Skeletons, goblins, bees and slimes are much easier to take out than runners and exploding monsters.
As for the bosses, they will have to face both the Stone Golem and Chunkham Horrible – it is random which will appear first. The Stone Golem will summon sharp rocks from the ground that will send the player flying while the Chunkham will shatter balls of clay, slowing the player's movement.
Purchase Toggler
Once players buy 40 unlocks megabunkToggler will appear in the shop. It costs 50 silver but can be very useful if players are trying to get specific items for a run. With the toggler, players can go to the unlock screen and disable any weapons, tomes, and items they've purchased.
This way, players can disable weapons and tomes that are not useful for AFK gaming. Players don't come across any items unless they get lucky, but if that happens, they still want to disable items that aren't useful.
There is a chance that players may be able to reach the chest and open it. In this case, it is extremely important to toggle as many useless items (in this case) as possible, as this will increase their chances of getting a useful item, and it can be important to make it to the end of the race. There are two special items that are game changing for the AFK Gaming Challenge megabunk:
- Camp fire – The player heals while standing
- passive juice – The longer the player stays still, the more damage they will deal (+up to 100% damage)
Get Banish, Skip, and Refresh Fees
Since it's not possible to disable all weapons, tomes, and items with Toggler, gamers may also want to invest in upgrading their charges for Banish, Skip, and Refresh. That way, when they're given a choice between upgrades they don't want they can refresh them until they make a better choice, remove them if they're completely useless, or skip them.
For example, since the Agility Tome will not help at all during this race as players must remain stationary, gamers should consider draining it. The same goes for any items they can pick up or purchase (if they're lucky enough to get near a Moai shrine or chest) that don't provide any benefits.
