Fire Force Its climactic endgame is waist-deep, a phase where even the strongest Fire Force The characters can't hold anything back. All previous battles against the Infernals and the White-Clad Cult were mere warmups compared to this final battle, as Arthur Boyle's duel with the dragon showed in episode 21. Both the stakes and power levels have reached their peak, meaning it's time for hero Shinra Kusakabe to jump into the thick of things.
The last few Fire Force The episodes don't really involve Shinra that much, since he kicked Raffles I Titan a few episodes ago. Shinra is lost as the people turn against him as the killer of a great emperor, and the heroes struggle in his absence. The end of episode 21, however, hints at Shinra's return in a big way – or at least, that the heroes need him right away. Whether or not Company 8 can return the world to normal and partially stop the Great Apocalypse, some big battles still lie ahead.
6 anime series better than fire force
Fire Force is a great anime, but there are series out there that are even better.
Shinra must overcome his image as a villainous devil
Shinra has not been popular recently
since when Fire Force The anime first aired, with protagonist Shinra Kusakabe playing with the idea of Satan as a sharp-toothed hero wielding the Devil's Footprint fighting style as a fire soldier in the Tokyo Empire. It is not unusual for shonen anime to switch the roles of angel and devil, such as the twisted bishop or cute devil and succubi, and Fire Force Shinra himself does the same. He's always been a self-styled superhero in every sense, and it's his pleasure to save people from the Infernal and other dangers. Lately, though, Shinra's devil theme has come full circle, and it could work against him in the next few episodes.
Shinra thought he would become the world's glorious savior in the cataclysm, with all his friends in Company 8 cheering him on as he defeated the Raffles I Titan. Soul Eater The moon hung overhead. Instead, the common people replaced Shinra as the devil who killed their emperor, meaning that the image and history of the White-Door Cult is beside the point. The white-clad cult wants to “save” humanity in a twisted sense, hiding behind the historical significance of Raffles I to sell the idea. After that battle, Shinra ended up elsewhere, and he hasn't been seen since. All this fighting unfolded in his absence.
10 Best Winter 2026 Anime (According to MAL)
The 2026 winter anime season is off to an incredible start, and these 10 series are racing to the top of the charts, according to MyAnimeList.
What's more, Shinra woke up with the weight of his doppelganger weighing him down. Since the beginning of the third act of season 3, Shinra has acted against her doppelganger's bad reputation as a rude and unkind person, who casually hits on Iris. It all adds up to the fact that from episode 22 onwards, Shinra will likely be very unpopular and have little support outside of Company 8 when he returns to battle. Shinra may have to come to terms with his own dark impulses, or at least fight everyone's unfairly negative image. After all, this is the stage where images and reality blur together, so the idea of Shinra being a bad guy isn't just some rumor. It's part of reality, and it's something fans can expect to see more of until the anime's conclusion at episode 22.

Company 8 faces the remaining doppelgänger threat without Arthur
Shinra might be late to the party too
A few episodes ago, Fire Force The dramatic arrival of some powerful fire soldiers and a quintet of doppelgangers to match other characters in the anime has left viewers in awe. The remaining members of the White-Clad Cult made sure those doppelgangers arrived in time to keep the Great Cataclysm on track and stop the heroes of Company 8, and so far, only one of those doppelgangers has seen action. Tamaki Kotatsu fought off the evil twin of the attack a few episodes ago, meaning the elite team is down to four surviving members. after that, Fire Force Gears shifted to depict Arthur's climactic showdown with the dragon on the moon itself.
One of the best shonen anime series of 2026 is officially ruined forever
The Winter 2026 anime is amazing, but one of its most anticipated releases has been ruined forever.
That means, with so few episodes Fire Force As for the rest, it is possible that Episode 22 will see the heroes face off against the four remaining doppelgangers, either in a duel or in a group fight. The anime is surprisingly hesitant to show those doppelgangers in battle, but the likes of Shinmon Benimaru and Joker don't have their doppelgangers appear as window dressing. It's all but certain that these Adola-born villains will see action soon, and Shinra probably won't be there for the first time. Nor would the mighty knight Arthur Boyle see, how he was torn to pieces in a fight with a dragon and appeared on the brink of death.
For now, Kurono and Benimaru are already looking after their own doppelgangers, and this could dominate the story in the next battle, while Shinra struggles to find a way back to the battlefield, shaking off his own villainous image. Shinra is the hero in an endgame battle, so he's probably strong enough to help Benimaru or Kurono fight against their own evil twin who has to prove again why he's considered a great hero to everyone.
