Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo It began its run in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump on September 8, 2025 – almost a year after the end of the original Jujutsu Kaisen manga. The Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga has proven to be a major success. Its first volume released in January 2026 became a huge hit and went on to become one of the best selling series of the month. Of course, JJK Modulo has a major legacy behind it. It is the sequel to the worldwide sensation 68 years after the end of the original Jujutsu Kaisen manga. Like, it was always going to be a big hit.

Immediately after its launch, Gege Akutami dropped an important message setting the manga's length and expectations for fans. In his message, Gege Akutami said he believes the Modulo manga will run for about three volumes, or six months of weekly releases.

“An opportunity to think of many different ideas, such as expanding part of the main story, setting up some specific background, changing the time period or creating a parallel story; and thus Modulo, which was actually the craziest idea in its concept phase, came to fruition after going through a series of meetings.

This is a very short, sharply compact serialization. It will be about six months worth of work (if it is not cancelled).

About three volumes worth.

I hope everyone can enjoy Modulo as an introduction to a new type of jujutsu! – Gege Akutami

It is natural for fans to be disappointed after hearing this. When the sequel was first announced, some believed it might be a full-length normal-length manga like its predecessor, Jujutsu Kaisen. Many fans still hope that despite Gage's message, it will continue for a long time. However, as is evident from the pace of the series and recent unfolding events, Gage's speculation seems realistic. The end of JJK Modulo has now been heavily signaled by the latest announcement made at Jump, and it's definitely a disappointing update.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo can be finished in the next 3 chapters

Three Weekly Shonen Jump cover pages announced back to back

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo 3 Chapter Finished

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is definitely at its peak. A few chapters ago, Dabura's main battle with Yuka Okkotsu began, and on top of that, Tsurugi Okkotsu defeated Maru as well. Tsurugi and Maru's war has already ended, and Dabura is soon to destroy Mahoraga. Of course, there's also a shocking new plot twist introduced by Gege, which involves Yuji and Maru changing the world of Jujutsu Kaizen forever by getting rid of all the cursed energy. With this, the story definitely reaches its climax. Still, it was estimated, at least, to see about 10 chapters. However, a recent reveal from Weekly Shonen Jump seems to indicate a foregone conclusion for this sequel.

  • It was revealed by Weekly Shonen Jump that in issues 13, 14, and 15, Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo will have a cover page each time.. For reference, a series with three color pages back-to-back is basically unheard of in the history of Weekly Shonen Jump. For such a historic moment has been revealed Jujutsu Kaisen ModuloIt is believed to be a departure for Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen. As things stand, The series may end with Weekly Shounen Jump issue 15. If Gage plans to end the manga in 3 chapters, it would make sense to see Weekly Shonen Jump offer him so much spotlight. Of course, that's just speculation, and has yet to be confirmed by the magazine.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo may still have more in store for fans

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is feared to be finished in the next three weeks due to jump cover pages. But, as Jump said, this may also be due to how successful Gege Akutami and his stories have been in the magazine. If this is the case, Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo will probably continue for a few more chapters before reaching the end.

The current story of JJK Modulo Revolves around Yuji and Maru's plan to eliminate the cursed energy. Getting rid of the cursed energy is a plot point revealed all the way back to the original JJK by Yuki. As the main story progressed, this plot point was completely forgotten, but Gage is bringing it back to Modulo. While Yuji and Maru may succeed, it's also very possible that it could all backfire. If that happens, something akin to a merger may unfold, and the results will be disastrous.

That being said, if Gege Akutami wants to continue the story, he can easily go for it. Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo's The current plot is very versatile and it can either be finished in 3 chapters, or it can be expanded further and given more time to be more successful.

Even so Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo ends, there is also a possibility that the series will get another sequel. As fans know, there is a huge time gap between the original Jujutsu Kaisen and the Modulo of 68 years. This time gap can easily be explored in the new manga by Gege Akutami, and fans will absolutely love it. Seeing the original cast in their primes is something many fans have been itching to see. After all, it's too beneficial for Gege Akutami Magazine not to let go so easily. Jump certainly hasn't seen the last of him. Sooner or later, Gage Akutami will return to Jump because he is incredibly talented and Jump is also needed to carry the torch for the next generation of shonen manga.
