League of Legends' next champion leaks online

If there's one constant in the world besides death and taxes, it's League of Legends. Since its debut in 2009, the Riot Games-developed free-to-play MOBA has kept going strong, reaching over 172 playable champions, as well as several spin-offs, including a fighting game (2XKO), as well as a card game (Riftbound).

Oh, and a hit anime production from Netflix in the form of Arcane.

WASD controls won't bring new players to League of Legends, but could fix the worst tutorial in gaming.

Sixteen years after the release of League of Legends, the terrible tutorial is unacceptable.

As the LoL world continues to churn, another champion is joining the fold. His name is Locke, and he was accidentally confirmed via an April Fool's Day joke that was later deleted.

That said, given his presence in the “For the Fallen” motion comic, it's about as big of an open mystery as it can get.

Now, via a new leak, we know what Locke's moves are like, and it's giving off vibes of Chief Nobara Kugisaki from Jujutsu Kaisen.

If there is another character who uses nails like this, then we want to meet them

As first spotted by Insider Gaming , leaker Big Bad Bear has released a new video on YouTube showing purported footage of Locke in action, along with some of his moves.

His “Q” skillshot is called “Soul Nail” and involves throwing a giant nail forward. His second form, which is still unclear, also includes claws that swirl around him during the transformation. This is in line with past rumors that the champion will give off massive Jujutsu Kaisen vibes.

Those rumors continue to portray Locke as an AP champion best suited for jungle or mid-lane. Considering he's the only “new” champion due for release in 2026, all eyes are on Riot to see if they'll deliver.

As far as the Jujutsu Kaisen connection is considered, well, we've yet to get an actually good game based on the hit anime and manga, and this might be as close as we'll get. At this point, JJK fans will have to take it.
