Marvel rivals 'Rogue as the best-looking hero you'll probably never get the chance to play.

It's important to be able to admit when you're wrong, and I can definitely say that I was wrong about the disease. Marvel Rivals. Like others, I expected him to be a tactician, joining Remy Lebaue in the backline to keep his team in the fight. And while it would have been nice, two tacticians in a row would have resulted in a fairly soft season for the other two roles. In reality, though, Rogue is going to find herself at the front of every battlefield because she's a vanguard, and incredibly interesting to boot. Whereas I had already predicted Overwatch 2Co Vendetta will steal the show this December, I don't think that's the case anymore. Rogue looks really great, though now I'm worried that NetEase may have accidentally baked too well with his kit.

when Marvel Rivals When Rogue is released on December 12, she'll bring her iconic Savage Land look as an alternate costume, an outfit that's often seen in how many people will inevitably try to make her the main one. Rogue may have a five-star difficulty level, indicating that she's the hardest Vanguard to master yet and that she's on par with Spider-Man, but the sheer potential of her kit means players won't be deterred by her high skill floor and similarly high ceiling. In the right hands, Rog has the potential to be terrifying, meaning there are two big reasons why he's going to have a hard time getting playing time.

Problem 1: Normal new hero release cycle, but extended

any Marvel Rivals The player – or hero shooter fan, for that matter – will be well aware of what happens when a new character is released. While the excitement is palpable, and everyone wants a chance to try the new addition, only one person per team can access the newcomer. It sees a race to insta-lock whoever the latest hero is, with many players circling that character and only one lucky enough to get there first. For more niche heroes, this insta-locking only lasts a few days, but for popular ones like Gambit, it's hard to get access to a hero for the first week of availability. Unfortunately for Vanguard mainstays like myself, the hype surrounding Rog makes it likely that he will be hard to use until mid-December.

Players also have technology to make quick selections easier Marvel Rivals hero, assigning that character to their strike team and remembering exactly where to place their cursor. This makes it difficult for casual players to get their hands on more heroes until sweater gamers get “bored” of the latest character.

This is particularly problematic given the complexity of the disease kit. Due to his iconic power-leaching in-game, Rogue users need to get the hang of an ability from almost every hero on the roster. It will take time, as few players can say they have mastered every member of the giant Marvel Rivals Cast. However, if players can't consistently use Rogue until after her launch month, and then they need weeks of practice to confidently know whose abilities to steal and when, Rogue won't be viable in competitive play until Season 6 for most players. And even then, the second obstacle to using her will rear its ugly head.

Rogue can copy the following abilities Marvel Rivals:

  • Hulk's Thunderclap

  • Doctor Strange shield

  • Groot's Great Wall

  • Magneto's Self-Bubble

  • Venom's tendrils

  • Emma's Diamond Form (Without Chokes and Kicks)

  • Minimizing item damage

  • Thor's waking state

  • Storm speed/damage buffs

  • Hella's Stun

  • Scarlet Witch's Stun

  • Magik's Demon Teleport

  • Squirrel Girl's Hop

  • Spider-Man's uppercut

  • Namor's Squids

  • Psylocke's invisibility

  • shouted Wolverine

  • Blade's lifesteal/healing reduction

  • Daredevil's Mark

  • Human Torch's self-fire shield

  • Attention Iron Fist

  • The Runes of Loki

  • Sleep of the Mantis

  • Cloak and Dagger's Blind and Bubble (depending on which character is copied)

  • Luna's Snowball

  • Jeff's bubble

  • Gambit's Spade (Damage) Deck

  • Invisible Woman Push/Pull

  • Adam Warlock's Soul Bond

Rog can't take abilities for any of the heroes, she just takes their roles passively. A typical role is that a character is human and has no proper superhero abilities, they are not worth copying.

Problem 2: Marvel Rivals' Rogue is going to be a prime target for Banes

in Marvel RivalsThere are some heroes that regularly fall victim to competitive bans. In the lower ranks, Penny Parker is routinely picked because her pod is considered annoying, while Black Panther and Hulk have had multiple seasons where they're essentially stuck on the bench. Sometimes it's a team-up that causes these insta-buns, like Wolverine and Phoenix, while other times it's related to a recent buff, or even a character like Jeff being banned because they're seen as throw picks. In Rogue's case, it probably won't be her ability-steal or melee combos that cause all the restrictions, but her ultimate ability.

Dubbed Heartbreaker, this one Marvel Rivals Ultimate sees Rogue steal stats from those caught in Ultimate to buff their allies, with buffs determined by the role of affected enemies. More importantly, any enemy caught in Rog's ult will have his own ultimate charges depleted, essentially allowing Rog to prevent powerful tactician ultimates from being used if his enemy team has a good grip on the ult economy. If players find Penny Parker annoying, there's no doubt they'll hate playing against Vanguard who can negate their team's ultimate, ensuring that Rog will be a common target for banning. Essentially, she is destined to be a “Choose or Ban” character.

This worries me, because I'm in the mood to try the disease, knowing I won't get many chances for the next several days. And then when I get to use her, I have to wonder if mastering her is even worth it, because I won't get to use her much in comp because of how controversial her ultimate can be. While Rogue looks bigger than I expected, her addition is somewhat bittersweet, as NetEase may have made Anna Marie too strong for her own good.
