The first one was focused only on live The Super Mario Galaxy Moviewhich premiered Yoshi's version of Illumination and moved the film's US release date to April 1, 2026. The second Nintendo Direct of the year rolled around. Tomodachi Life: Living the Dreamwhere fans were given a 20-minute deep dive into the social sim's new gameplay features.

A new Nintendo Direct will be broadcast on February 5. This official confirmation follows an assortment of leaks and rumors over the past few months claiming that Nintendo Direct will air in the early weeks of February. The showcase also follows a long-standing tradition for the video game company, with some form of Nintendo Direct appearing in several years since 2012.
It should be noted that this upcoming Nintendo Direct is branded as a partner showcase. This means that Direct will focus on games from Nintendo's third-party partners, meaning first-party franchises such as was killed and Zelda Not likely to be seen. Nintendo's official announcement confirms that the live will last “about 30 minutes” and will include reveals for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 games.
What will be shown during the February 5 Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase?
There are a number of games confirmed to be heading to the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. The next few months will see the favourites. Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Tides, Animal, Resident Evil requests, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflectionand High in life 2 All launch on Switch 2. It's possible that Nintendo wants to spotlight these upcoming releases. There's also a wealth of upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 games with typical 2026 release windows that could be shown off during partner showcases, e.g. Alden Ring: The Tarnished Edition, Duskbloods, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, Final fantasy 7 rebirth, Fallout 4: Anniversary EditionAnd version of Switch 2 Hollow Knight: Silksong and its unreleased Sea of Sorrows DLC.
Of course, fans can expect to see some completely new game announcements during the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, some of which could be scheduled for 2027 and beyond. Back in January 2025, an array of Xbox Studios games were rumored to be released on the Switch 2, including Halo: Master Chief Collection, Starfield, Sea of Thievesand an unspecified one Call of Duty Entry. Like other third-party titles Monster Hunter Wild, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eaterand Rainbow Six Siege The Switch was also rumored to receive 2 ports in the future. Nintendo has never officially confirmed that any of these games will be heading to its hybrid console, and rumors surrounding their alleged Switch 2 versions have died down in recent months, but there's a chance they could make a direct appearance.
Some recent rumors have claimed that a handful of highly requested games could be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. Kingdom Hearts The trilogy is rumored to be shown during the February 5 Nintendo Direct. Both Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Metaphor: ReFantazio The Switch is reportedly targeting a 2026 release window for the 2 versions. Rumors should always be taken with a pinch of salt, but thankfully, fans won't have to wait long to find out if there's any truth to them.
