Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen It's being re-released tomorrow on the Switch and Switch 2 as a separate purchase unchanged from the original, which means the creepy old man of Celadon City is coming back. The fact that no changes were made to the base games can be a double-edged sword, as some very old and disappointing features Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen Can ruin the experience of veterans of the series. The decision preserves the classic charm of these games, but it has its fair share of issues.
For example, Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreenOnce a National Dex is obtained, the goal cannot be evolved into a Crobat until the post-game section. However, if your Golbat has enough friendships, it will play the evolution animation every time it levels up, even if it is unable to actually evolve. Also, in Celadon City, there is the problem of the infamous slot machines, which are pure RNG if you want to get your hands on premium prizes like TM for Thunderbolt, Dratini, or Porrigan. These issues will remain, and so will the creepy old man staring at the gym in Celadon City.

If you choose Charmander as your starter over Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen, this gym will be full air, and if you use any other level 20+ Fire or Flying Pokemon, the same will happen if you have those Ice-types.
As can be noted by the name and type of trainer in each of the gyms, these are all female characters, and that's where the infamously creepy old man comes in. Just outside the Celadon City Gym is an NPC who is happy that there are only women inside the building, which he knows because he's watching through the window.
Why is Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen's Scary Old Man Sitting?
This was probably intended to poke fun at the original games, but at a bad age within this community, to the point Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu! And Eevee! “Heheh! This gym is great! Full of women!” Changed the old man's dialogue from “Hahaha! This gym is so cool! There are people in it!”, which shows that the Pokemon Company is aware of the creepy nature of the original NPC. Still, without any change, it means this Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreenCeladon City will retain both their original charm and original peeping old man.
Considering how far the franchise has come in terms of female representation, Celadon City's old man sticks out like a sore thumb, and it would have been great to have it removed straight away. The problem obviously comes from the fact that making these kinds of changes would have opened up a can of worms, and then fans would have been upset if more pressing gameplay changes had been left out. The games are so similar to the original that they even omit the online functionality of the modern releases, so you'll be stuck with local co-op to complete. Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreenpokedex.
