A Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen After only 676 attempts the player realizes his mistake too late after making an exceptionally brilliant discovery. Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen Not exactly your typical Pokemon Games, at least not by current standards. These titles were released in 2004 and made their way to the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 a few days ago, and they are mostly unchanged. This means that most of the original glitches still work, and unfortunately, it also means that finding and catching shiny Pokemon is an extremely long and potentially frustrating process.
Unlike modern games, Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen’s edition exclusives can only be traded locally rather than through online play, so completing shiny decks solo is nearly impossible. Not only that, but the games have a lower chance of finding shiny Pokemon, which is 1/8,192 instead of 1/4,096, and there aren't any weird-buffing methods like the Masuda method for eggs or shiny charms. What follows is that every hunt should have perfect odds, and even then, you'll find two shiny ones in modern sports while you can find one on average in FireRed and LeafGreen. As such, shiny starters are a valuable asset.
The best Pokemon to catch early in Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen
If you want to know which Pokemon are best to catch early in Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen, this guide essentially provides a lot of information about party members.
Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen Player resets ultra rare shiny quests
Twitter user @laurathelass shared a video on the platform showing her finding an incredibly rare Glowing Bulbasaur by soft resetting early in the game, only to accidentally soft reset the Glowing Bulbasaur right away. In general, a shiny starter is a big deal because the process can be very long and tedious, and it prevents you from actually playing the game because you're stuck in Professor Oak's lab until you find yours. In this case, Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreenThe beginnings of are not luminosity-locked, and they can be found as luminosity with a 1/8,192 chance. Bulbasaur was found by @laurathelass after 676 resets, which was extremely lucky.

However, the poor Pokemon fan had just woken up when she found Shiny Bulbasaur, so between that and muscle memory, she soft reset the Shiny she was looking for. It's a terrible loss, and while not irreversible, it can certainly hurt morale for the victim (and those who follow), and it may take a long time to find another. Some fellow players have been stuck in the lab since launch, and shiny hunting starter Pokemon usually causes this result in other games as well. In the Gen 3 Kanto Remake, though, the odds are particularly bad for shiny prey, and so losing that Bulbasaur can be quite shocking and disappointing.
Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen certain encounter shiny victims
However, it is one of the few “fixed” shiny hunts in the games. This means shiny hunts where you're guaranteed to get a Pokemon, so it's just about the odds of spawning a given Pokemon rather than dealing with the odds of spawning it. A full list of fixed encounters includes:
-
Beginners in Professor Oak's lab
- Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreenCo Route 4 Magikarp, sold for 500 Poke Dollars

Togepi eggs in the water maze
While choosing the best fossil Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen Usually up for debate, Omanyte is a good choice. Anyway, all three fossils can produce shiny Pokemon, but if they aren't shiny you have to reset them. On the other hand, a Togepi egg's shiny barrier is determined when the egg is obtained, so you must save before obtaining it and then hatch it. Still, like the missing Bulbasaur @laurathelass, these are all 1/8,192 shiny victims with no way to take it easy.
