Niantic confirms all new details and rewards coming to Max Battle Day Pokemon GoIncluding the debut of the brand new Gigantamax Pokemon. 2026 is a big year for both Pokemon franchise and hit mobile titles Pokemon GoEach is hitting a major milestone. After the Master Franchisee reaches 30 years, Pokemon Go Celebrating 10 years as well and till now, players are enjoying plenty of bonuses, events and other rewards.
March has been the busiest month for the players Pokemon Go Last weekend launched the All Out event, a special anniversary celebration that brought back nearly every Pokemon that appeared in the mobile title multiple times through its spans. Also, the game had a special 30th anniversary event going on, giving players the chance to work their way through a free GO Pass with a variety of Kanto Pokémon, including Mewtwo, for those who could play before it expired. While the unique events are over, Niantic has plenty of content coming in March, including Max Battle Day in a few weeks.

Pokemon GO confirms new Gigantamax debut for Max Battle Day
Starting March 28 from 2pm to 5pm, players can participate in Max Battle Day, which also includes the debut of Gigantamax Pikachu. Players can keep an eye out for its debut in 6-star Max Battles and for those who are a bit lucky, they might even come across a shiny variant. Originally introduced to the franchise through Dynamax's ability Pokemon Sword and the shieldPeople were initially impressed with Pikachu's Gigantamax design, which seemed to bring back the chubbier look from the Gameboy version.
Pikachu is available within all current Gigantamax versions in addition to making its debut Pokemon GoMax Battle Day will also activate a bunch of event bonuses. The maximum particle collection limit will be increased to 1,600, with power spots refreshing frequently and featuring Gigantamax Battles. Players will also be able to earn 8x maximum particles from Power Spots, as well as three exclusive trades for the day. Players can also earn double the maximum amount of particles for moving a quarter of the distance.

Naturally, there is a premium option available for $4.99 to unlock even more goodies during the event. Event-specific Timed Research will unlock, rewarding players with 1 Max Mushroom, 25,000XP, and 6,400 Max Particles, as well as double the amount of XP earned by participating in Max Battles. At the maximum mushroom Pokemon Go Dynamax and Gigantamax are valuable items that temporarily double all damage dealt by Pokemon in Max Battles. Using more Max Mushrooms will extend the timer on which they activate, but it won't cause more damage to multiply. Unfortunately, there don't appear to be any free ways to earn these items, as they can be purchased through the in-game store or this upcoming Timed Research.
With Max Battle Day set for the end of the month, players will be able to join a special Pokopia celebration event starting on March 10. Pokemon Pokopia, Pokemon Go Ditto will be featured during the event, along with hat and hat-wearing versions. Players will also discover that Costumed Ditto is transforming into different Pokemon in the jungle as Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, Sudoudo, Zorua will appear more often. Three-star raids will feature Lapras, Snorlax, and Dragonites, while Pokestops with XP bonuses for spinning will be active until they expire on March 16.
