Pokemon Go revealed its upcoming New Year program for players and highlighted all the bonuses and details, including facing pocket monsters in unique costumes. Starting on New Year's Eve, Pokemon Go Starting the year-end event at 10 a.m. local for all players. At the start of the New Year event, players will see celebratory fireworks set off in the game's skybox, and they'll be able to earn 2x XP from Raid battles and double the amount of Stardust earned. Of course, the event is wearing Pokémon to catch it, including a special Pikachu wearing a star top hat in the jungle and during raids.
However, that's not all! Wild Encounters can also feature the party hat Bulbasaur, Jigglypuff wearing ribbons, as well as a New Year's party-style hoodoo. Of course, players have a chance to add to their shiny Pokemon collection as there is a small chance that these encounters will be their shiny variants. Field research work awards can also lead to these special encounters.
The party vibes extend to various raid encounters in the New Year's event, including 1-star raids featuring Party Hat Wormplay and Party Hat Pikachu. 3-star raids also give party hats in encounters with Raticate, Nidorino, Gengar, and Wobbuffet. Lucky Exchange has also been increased from 35 to 45 per trade. Not only that, if the player trades Pokemon Go With the creature in stock since 2020, it's guaranteed to be lucky until the limit is reached, and it's permanent.
Finally, for players who want to spend a little more on the game, Niantic is offering Timed Research for $1.99 and allows players to get one extra Raid Pass from a spinning Photo Disc, for a daily total of 2 instead of the usual 1. The Timed Research will include two Premium Battle Passes, 3,000 Stardust, and N's Top Hatchunt along with New Years. The in-game shop will also sell Blecephalon shoes that can be worn by the player's avatar.
However, with that event still weeks away, players have more content to look forward to as early as this week. Pokemon Go’s Winter Vacation launch on December 18th adds its own selection of costumed creatures such as festive versions of Sudowoodo, Charjabug, Eevee, Dedenne, and Vikavolt. Charjabug looks like a wrapped present, while the rock Pokemon Sudowoodo is dressed like a Christmas tree. Swinub, Snorunt, and Spheal will also be featured and players can score new winter-themed avatar gear. Eggs also have a high chance of hatching ice types like Smoochum, Cryogonal, and Snow.
