Pokemon Pokopia Player creates a working in-game calculator

Pokemon Pokopia is full of awesome fan creations. That level of creative enthusiasm is in part responsible for the game's success on social media, which has translated into incredibly strong launch sales (insert ditto joke here) for this early Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive.

Some builds are cooler than others, of course. The underground tunnel under Blake Beach is one of my personal favorites. But what about a functional calculator? It's only programmed for simple addition, but that's still crazy. It's the kind of stuff you'd expect to see pop up in the form of a Bethesda game mod, but Pokopia has inspired people to such an extent, and its epic sandbox has such a toolkit, that it's now possible to achieve such feats purely through in-game means.

Technology returns to post-apocalyptic Kanto

I love that this eye for @Tarnow0530 is part of an ongoing process of building projects. “Next,” they explain, “I've built a calculator [on Pokemon Pokopia]. It can add single-digits.” Another rung on the ladder for this player. Something to show us all before they move on to building… I don't know. A fully functional iPad?

Be sure to watch their full clip. There is a second tweet that shows this in more detail. And then there's the third, which I'll get to in the next paragraph. Look, though—press the right switches, wait a second for the fully built-in internal lever system to complete the process, and watch as the display screen tells you the answer to 4+2.

“This is the overall circuit diagram,” the aforementioned follow-up tweet notes. “Feel free to reference it.” I mean, wow. Check out the picture below to see what they are talking about. But no. I don't think I'm going to refer to it other than to tell you that you're awesome. This is some top-grade gunpla here, and I'm sorry, but I'm still working on starter kits.

I don't even know what to say. Perhaps Twitter's feeble attempt at translation (?) from another Japanese player's comment sums it up best: “Thanks. I understand it's impossible.”
