Red Dead Redemption 2 Often considered Rockstar's magnum opus, and for good reason: its intimate, heartwarming story, amazing attention to detail, incredible soundtrack, and more make it an easy hit with the world. But cultural stagnation continues Red Dead Redemption 2 The actual quality of the game goes beyond that, as its longevity is partly defined by a thick air of mystery.

in fact, Red Dead Redemption 2 Filled with quirky Easter eggs, cold cases, and breadcrumb trails left behind by Rockstar, players are uncovering new mysteries nearly eight years after launch. A prime example of this phenomenon is the Spider Dream Easter Egg, which was only recently revealed by eagle-eyed players spelunking through game files and 3D model minutia. Hold on to your ten-gallon hat, it's a doozy.

Red Dead Redemption 2's 'Spider Dream' Easter Egg Still Unsolved

It all starts with a glowing pentagram that appears in Butcher's Creek between the in-game hours of 4-5 AM. If you inspect the outhouses surrounding the pentagram, you'll find tally marks, and if you draw a line between these outhouses on the game map, going in order of tallies, you'll form a pentagram. It's interesting, but a closer look at the fourth outhouse in the pentagram design begins the real mystery: it has an engraving depicting Fort Brennand.

At Fort Brennand, there is an outhouse with six-story carvings, confirming that this is another piece of the puzzle. One of the fort's towers has a seven-tall carving on its exterior, and just above the inner door frame is another type of painting, this time depicting crude drawings of a telegraph pole, a factory and a puddle. This is to represent Cornwall kerosene and tar; Near the factory is a telegraph pole carved in the shape of a spider and, if you visit it early in the morning, a spider's web at the top, with a white feather hanging from it.

Overlaying the shape of the spider RDR2 The map, roughly between New Hanover and Lemoyne, has its legs leading you to eight other telegraph poles, each with a feather and web. Three of the nets have red feathers, while the rest have white. It is speculated that this honor may have something to do with the mechanic, but no firm conclusions can be drawn. in Red Dead 2 Game files, these webs are known as spiderdream01, spiderdream02, and so on, hence the mysterious name.

Moving to the spot on the spider's body will reveal a ninth spiderweb, this one black and depicting the letter N and the other a telegraph pole. This indicates that you should head straight north until you reach another telegraph pole, the artwork of which can be shot to reveal six engravings: the letter W, and five telegraph poles. It is a sign to travel five poles north. Once at this pole, you can peel back the outer layer of wood to reveal more engravings: the letters N and W, and a guitar, which is a sign of travel to Northwest Fort Wallace, a location with two guitars.

The second guitar in the castle is on the tower, and is “pointing” directly upwards. If you climb to the top of the tower and look down at the edge of the roof, you'll see a carving of two birds, and riding straight past the carving will take you to the Giant's Birds (another unsolved. RDR2 mystery) in Calumet Ravine. Look closely at the mountains at this location and you will see a question mark carved into the rock face. There's another question mark on the side of another hill, a few miles east of Calumet Wharf.

Beginning with a central, black spiderweb, tracing a path between all the clues forms the shape of a question mark, and following this shape to its conclusion takes players to the Loft, a huge structure containing, on its first floor, a device for sending telegraphs. According to Strange Man on YouTube, this device model is unique and cannot be found elsewhere in the game. The question mark on the map is a side mission near the end of the constellation whose starting point, as it happens, contains equipment designed to receive telegraph messages. Again, Strange Man claims that this is the only such telegraph receiver in the game.

On an unfamiliar mission Red Dead Redemption 2 The map is depicted with a question mark symbol, which is an interesting parallel to the aforementioned question mark constellation created by Spider Dream Clues.

So, what does Red Dead Redemption 2's Spider Dream Easter Egg even mean?

The Telegraph receiver is where the Spider Dream trail goes cold, at least for now Red Dead Redemption 2 The fanbase has some very active sleuths ready to look for any clues. There are clearly some primary motifs here, namely telegraphs and spiders, and secondary motifs like guitars, which I find particularly confusing – what do they mean?

A general theory, which is not entirely impossible, is that all of these details are simply holdovers from cut missions or side activities. Perhaps the term “spider dream” refers to these spiderwebs being a part of dreams, like grass roots missions and peyote easter eggs. GTA 5. The signs that are part of the dream scene will explain why some of them appear only in the early hours of the morning, and the overall true nature of the various signs and messages. It's admirable that Rockstar chose not to remove these items from the game, especially since they're so obscure that players literally only find them all these years later.

Spider Dream is far from the only unsolved mystery lurking in Red Dead Redemption 2

While Red Dead Redemption 2 While detectives are still hoping to unravel the mystery of the Spider Dream, it could always land on a pile of other loose threads in the game, some of the major ones include:

  • What's the deal with foreigners near Mt Shan and the emerald fields?

  • What is the meaning of Francis Sinclair's futuristic city stone carving?

  • What is the point of giant in Ambarino?

  • Where is Isabelle Catherina Zinsmeister, the missing princess of Luxembourg Red Dead Redemption 2 files?

You can follow any of these threads to many clues and theories, but they all lead to dead ends at this point. It's unclear if Rockstar intends to solve these mysteries, or if they're part of the cut material, according to theories about the Spider Dream clues. The legendary developer can only mess with the audience, sending them on a wild goose chase, a never-ending series of mysteries. Trying to solve these mysteries is like a game in itself, so it's not a terrible design idea from Rockstar.
