Resident Evil Requiem is undoubtedly the most popular game of the year, and the numbers confirm it. There's no debating it though, there's one thing that's probably more popular than the game, and that's Leon's new look. Almost everyone is thirsty for this grizzly version of him.
Capcom has already revealed that developers envisioned a “hot uncle” version of the iconic character, taking into account the views of female employees, and fans have joined in by creating a mod that makes him shirtless. In fact, even Leon's voice actor, Nick Apostolides, is jealous of his in-game avatar.
“I need to live it”
Apostolides met people in the party chat (thanks GamesRadar), where he read the most thirsty posts about Leon. Even though he plays the hunky hero, Apostolides can't help but feel a little jealous of the attention Leon receives, as well as agree with all the eloquently placed messages about how hot he is.
The responses start with a bang, as the first post is about the aforementioned shirtless Leon mode. “Look at those pecs. I'm jealous,” he said. “Jealous abs at this point. It's always so insulting when your avatar is so much hunkier than you. It's an inspiration. He's going to motivate me.”
Another post compares Thirsty Leon to Lara Croft and Dead or Alive, and Apostolides wholeheartedly agrees. Speaking about Leon's character mod, the actor talked about Capcom consulting with female staff members about his look. “He's a good-looking guy. I get it. To be mentioned in the same echelon as Laura Croft is a very high compliment,” added one host.
As PartyChat creator Skylar was tasked with collecting the tweets, the team joked that her Twitter algorithm was flooded with Leon Pass posts. “I bet you have a body pillow. Leon's body pillow, right?” Apostolides chimed in.
There's no denying that the Internet is completely obsessed with “Hot Uncle” Leon at the moment, and Apostolides fully understands. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to find that Leon body pillow.
