Sasuke Uchiha is one of the most famous Naruto characters. Unlike many characters in the series, it didn't take long for him to impress the audience with his personality and fighting style. As one of the main characters, Sasuke was constantly in the spotlight, which meant he had the opportunity to fight many incredible opponents throughout the series.
Naruto: The 29 Best Villains, Ranked
From rogue ninjas to terrorists, and alien creatures, Naruto's best villains are in a league of their own.
Many of the fighters Sasuke fought left a strong impression on his mind. They helped Sasuke improve not only as a fighter but also as a human being. Among his enemies, Itachi and Naruto are the ones who often stand out the most. However, there was an enemy that surpassed them.
Danzo was Sasuke's greatest enemy
Danzo was responsible for the Uchiha Clan Massacre
-
Danzo forced Shisui to commit suicide

He made killing Itachi his lineage
Danzo was Sasuke Uchiha's true nemesis Naruto. It may seem like this at first glance, but it is objectively correct. Danzo was the man responsible for the Uchiha Clan MassacreWhich, as readers know, was the most traumatic experience of Sasuke's life. Danzo was aware of the threat of the Uchiha clan, but at the same time, he craved their Kekai Genkai. First, he pursues Shisui, who himself plans to stop the coup d'état. Danzo thought that Shisui was dangerous, so he decided to kill him and steal his eyes. Danzo wanted power for himself, so he was very thorough in his approach.
After Shisui's death, Danzo knew that the only realistic option was to destroy the Uchiha, so he forced Itachi to kill the entire clan. Sasuke was the only one left alive, and it was because Itachi loved his younger brother so much. The destruction of his entire clan and above all, the murder of his parents left a huge hole in Sasuke's life. As he was still young, this incident was doubly painful for him. This also made Itachi hate him for what he had done.
Danzo destroyed Sasuke's relationship with Itachi
After the incident, Sasuke spent years hating Itachi. He trained hard and stayed away from distractions. Realizing that there was still a large gulf between Itachi and him, Sasuke left the Hidden Leaf to join Orochimaru. The once iconic Hidden Leaf Ninja gave Sasuke the opportunity to become even stronger and pay Itachi back for all he had done.
When it was time to fight, Sasuke prepared. He was willing to push himself until Itachi was dead in front of him. After a long and grueling battle, Sasuke emerged victorious. Sasuke thought that Itachi's chapter was over, and he could finally rest. But his whole world was turned upside down when Obito revealed that Itachi was being used as a scapegoat by the Hidden Leaf.
Obito told Sasuke that the higher-ups of the Hidden Leaf were responsible for the massacre of the Uchiha clan and the death of his brother. The news devastated Sasuke. He couldn't believe that Itachi had been protecting him for years, carrying the guilt of killing the clan and their parents. All the guilt and trauma of killing Itachi was indirectly tied to Danzo, who had forced Itachi to do it. Not only did Sasuke kill his older brother, he also got rid of the person he loved the most.
Sasuke got his revenge, but it was too late
Danzo ruined Sasuke's childhood
After receiving new information, Sasuke aims to wreak havoc on Danzo and the rest of the Hidden Leaf. His first target was Danzo, and he attacked him during the Five Kage Summit. During the fight, Sasuke learns the ugly truth of how Danzo stole the Sharingan from the dead Uchiha and implanted it in his arm. After a fierce battle, Sasuke finally defeated Danzo and avenged his clan members. While he succeeded in his attempt, the damage Danzo had done was irreparable. It was because of his actions that Sasuke lost his family and his friends. He was the one who made Sasuke leave the village. All these reasons prove that Danzo was indeed Sasuke's greatest enemy.
