RIYADH: Turki bin Abdullah Al-Zawini, director general of the Human Resources Development Fund, said the fund has helped more than 153,000 Saudi men and women get jobs in the private sector in the first half of 2024.
Al-Zawini said the fund disbursed SR3.79 billion ($1 billion) to private sector establishments for training, employment and empowerment support programs during the period, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.
He added that 1.4 million Saudi men and women and about 100,000 establishments working in key sectors in the kingdom have benefited from the program.
Al-Zawini emphasized the Fund's commitment to keep pace with the Kingdom's development in all sectors, address the needs of the business sector and meet the demand for a skilled national workforce.
He said the fund was established with the aim of encouraging the private sector to contribute to Saudi skill development, increase their participation in the labor market and localisation. It also worked to increase partnerships with agencies related to training, employment and empowerment of the national workforce and to increase their competitiveness and sustainability in the labor market.
Al-Zawini emphasized that the Fund's programs and services have helped to increase the benefits of individuals and establishments and the Fund's continuous efforts to keep pace with labor market changes and needs.
He said that the fund is also working on the development of training, empowerment and guidance support programs targeting the national manpower while contributing to achieving the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030 for human capacity development and labor market strategy.
