Silksong players share their biggest nitpicks with the game

Hollow Knight: Silksong has been out for a good while now, meaning everyone has thoroughly combed the lands of Farlum and the Citadel, saved every flea, beaten every boss, and overcome every challenge that Team Cherry managed to throw at us. With all that under our belt, we can now confidently look back on Silksong and judge it for what it is, and like every other game under the sun, there are some nitpicks from fans.

Many of them have been difficult to navigate since the game started, we're not talking about that today. A Reddit user and Silksong fan called Acrobatic_Book_7154 asked the game's community for their biggest non-difficulty-related nitpicks in the game, and came up with a few of their own to kick things off. Interestingly, many of their minor bugbears are shared by very few people.

Hollow Knight: Silksong players share their biggest nitpicks with the game

Initially, Silksong's voice lines came under a bit of fire from many fans, especially the lack of voice lines that made the jump over from the first game. Any Hollow Knight fan worth their salt screams “SHAW” at the top of their lungs, and a fan called Dave_the_dova laments that “there's not a single Shaw in the entire game,” a phrase that's so popular among the Team Cherry faithful.

Another big one mentioned by fans is Nidolin, which comes under fire for several reasons. For starters, a user named fuzzy-pause argues that Nidolin “discourages using it to lock behind it and lock dialogue” by burning your silk while you're playing it, with many calling it Bad Dream Nail in this regard. There have also been complaints about how useless it is in combat, and if you're sitting there right now figuring it can be used in combat, I'm right there with you.

Les also gets a mention from a few people in the answers, though it has nothing to do with how hard he is to fight. Instead, users like Level34MafiaBoss complain that Les doesn't appear as often when you're exploring Pharloom as other bugs, arguing that it “forced me to invest in her arc.” Another user called Commonality agrees, saying that they “would love it if she showed up as a hater in every possible place.”

There are several other nitpicks that fans have, such as not being able to get shard bundles in bulk, the music being a bit too quiet, bosses sometimes not dropping rewards, and a few other things. However, to be honest, if those are the worst things Silksong fans can come up with that aren't related to difficulty, then I think we can confirm that Team Cherry has made a very good video game.
