Somehow, the Sonic movies seem to get better with each new addition to the series. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is now just a couple of thousand dollars short of the $420 million box office, making it the highest-grossing film of the trilogy. Sonic's cinematic universe won't stop at three films though, and director Jeff Fowler has already accepted requests to introduce Silver in the future.

Speaking in an interview shared by SonicMovieUpdates, Fowler was informed that the interviewer's daughter would like to see Silver join Sonic and other characters from his video game universe on the big screen. The Sonic director replied that he was very aware that Sonic fans wanted to see a cinematic version of Silver, and that he was considering their request to include the future hedgehog in his movie plans.

While the Sonic 3 concept art of what Silver might look like in the live-action movie has found its way online this week, there's an image that suggests that there was once a plan for Silver to play a role in the threequel. . The photo shows Nickles and Tails speeding away from a giant ball of vehicles, buildings and debris, but that shot didn't make it into the final movie.

A fan theory behind the concept art is that Silver is responsible for that giant ball of debris as he uses something similar in the Sonic Generations boss fight. Silver uses his powers to hover over anything nearby, turning it into a giant ball he can fire at Sonic. It's called Meteor Smash, and its appearance in some concept art isn't the only thing suggesting that the next Sonic movie might involve characters traveling through time.

Another piece of Sonic 3 concept art revealed this week shows the victorious Dr. standing alongside Metal Sonic. Robotnik shows. Proof that the Sonic movies may have a timeline in which Robotnik wins and rules the world alongside Metal Sonic. Since Silver traveled back in time 200 years into the future in the Sonic games, it would make more sense for him to be introduced through a time travel storyline.

Paramount has already confirmed that there will be a Sonic the Hedgehog 4 and that, if all goes according to plan, it will be released in theaters sometime in 2027. We already know Amy and Metal Sonic will be part of that movie, and it's probably where Silver will make his cinematic debut as well.
