The a piece The manga returns this week with chapter 1177, and fans are incredibly excited to see what Eiichiro Oda delivers after a short hiatus. The big battles in Warland finally kickstart, with Zoro and the giants preparing to face the demon army created by Emu, and Sanji going head-to-head against Saint Killingham of the Holy Knights. The Elbaf arc is getting incredibly intense, and things will only get hotter from here.
3 Yonko level female characters in one piece
One Piece has many powerful female characters, but few of them are of Yonko level.
Why would Zoro lead the war against the Domi Reversi Army?
The next chapter of a piece Of course there's going to be a lot of focus on Roronoa Zoro and the giants with him. In the previous chapter, Dory and Broggy were successfully rescued from cutting off each other's heads, and now, they have joined Zoro in the battle against the Domi Reversi Giants. Dori and Brogie are both incredibly powerful, and they will surely prove to be a great help in the battle to come. Hajrudin and Stansen are also there, and these two powerful pirates are definitely going to make their mark. They are all led by Zorro, the swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates, who is sure to have some big moments in the battle against the Domi Reversi Giants.
For the most part, this fight is going to serve as a warm-up for Zoro as he needs to learn how to properly channel his Conqueror's Haki. Domi Reversi Giants serve as the perfect punching bag for him to do so, especially since they are immortal and keep regenerating until they are dealt a fatal blow. One Piece Chapter 1177 will definitely focus more on this aspect of the story, and allow Zoro to bring out his true power. At the same time, Dory and Brogie, who were largely underpowered in the arc despite carrying huge bounties, are also going to play key roles, and fans can't wait to see that.
How will Loki and Luffy face Emu?
While Zoro's fight against the Demon Army is definitely interesting, most fans want to see Luffy and Loki's fight against Emu. At this point, the two sides did not make contact, but Loki was seen bursting onto the scene, running towards the emu. One Piece Chapter 1177 is expected to further this plotline, and this is where the vast majority of fan interest lies at the moment.
So you were there all along, Nidhog! – Emu
It should be noted that the Emu recognized the Nidhog immediately from the Zero Century and for the first time they knew where the Nidhog were. Judging by the way Emu spoke, it was almost as if Nidhog was their former ally. As such, Emu may have some sinister plans for Loki and may well turn him against Elbaf and use him as a weapon to destroy the country. At this point, it makes a lot of sense, as the Elbaf arc definitely lacks a major threat.
One Piece Chapter 1177 could see Luffy and Loki go up against Emu with the latter turning Loki against the country, completely crushing all the hopes fans had built up over the last few chapters. It should also be noted that Oda has been setting up the Luffy vs. Loki battle since the beginning of this arc. Furthermore, there is a parallel to complete between Luffy and Loki, as Shanks was the only one who was able to stop Loki in the past. Luffy being able to do this would ensure he is on the same level as the legendary red haired Yonko. This change may not happen in the upcoming chapter, but it is definitely something that Oda will build on in One Piece Chapter 1177.
Sanji's confrontation with Holy Knight Killingham is underway
The upcoming chapter of One Piece will also give some attention to Sanji. As seen in the last chapter, Sanji has engaged the Holy Knight Killingham in battle, and it's sure to be a very exciting encounter. This is Sanji's first proper fight in One Piece after defeating the Queen, and it's a very exciting challenge for him. One Piece Chapter 1177 will see Sanji fighting against Saint Killingham, and with his superior powers, he's definitely going to defeat him easily.
The problem is that Sanji doesn't know how to deal with the immortality of these monsters. The only way to do that is to use Supreme King Haki, and as things stand, he has no access. However, that certainly doesn't mean that Sanji can't get the winner's haki. He is one of the first in line to receive this power, and this fight is going to serve as training for him and help awaken the power of the winner's hockey.
One Piece: All forms of Luffy, ranked by design
Luffy acquired a number of powerful forms that came in all sorts of strange shapes and sizes, some looking much better than others.

Coming to Killingham, it's clear that his ability to manifest dreams will play a big role in this fight. Killingham can also make dreams and nightmares come true, and Sanji's greatest nightmares are connected to himself and his family. As such, this would set up another Germa duel for Sanji that he would have to fight and possibly bring out his victor's Haki in the most exciting way possible. Fans absolutely cannot wait for Sanji vs. Killingham, and the upcoming chapter is definitely going to build towards that in an unprecedented way.

Assessing the scale of the battle at Elbaph
All in all, the war in Elbaf is progressing rapidly. With all the build-up chapters already out of the way, it's time that the main battles finally begin. Right now, it seems that Elbaf is divided into three parts. The first part focuses on Domi Reversi Giants, and Zoro is the highlight of this part. He'll certainly take them on and eventually purge them one by one, but if and when Somers returns to the scene, he may face a setback, taking him away from the fight against monsters and leaving him to the likes of Hazrudin, Stansen, Dori and Brogi.
The second part of the arc focuses on Sanji and the Straw Hats. Sanji will fight against Saint Killingham, while the other Straw Hats will fight against MMAs. Straw Hats are currently running rampant in Elbaf. They will also save the library and the school, and this part is also very interesting!
The third part will focus on Luffy and Loki, and it's easy to say that this is the most exciting part of the arc. It's probably something that Oda will focus on after he's dealt with everything else, but it's also where the main threat of the arc comes in, especially if Loki overturns Domi. It looks like all the pieces are in place for the arc's phenomenal finale, and fans can't wait to see how Oda develops the story this year and what kind of shocker she'll throw at them upon her return.
One Piece Chapter 1177 will be available to read on Manga Plus on March 22, 2026.
