If you're a fan of the Aliens or Predator franchises, or maybe both, this is a full-on revival. On one side, there was a brand new show, Alien: Earth, that managed to get ratings as high as the original movies that started the whole dang thing.
Alien: Earth is the best thing to happen to the Xenomorphs in decades
Noah Hawley delivers a terrifying television debut for the Xenomorph in Alien: Earth.
Then, on the other side, the Predator has been resurrected through an animated film, as well as a live-action movie titled Predator: Badlands. Oh, and we can't forget about Prey, the 2022 movie that made creatures worth taking seriously again.
If you're in need of some nostalgia, then the 2D Terminator game was literally just released today, and it looks like the stuff.
That said, when it comes to video games, neither Aliens nor Predator has much in common with other 1980s and 1990s franchises that have received much recent love. However, if new reporting from Insider Gaming is to be believed, it looks like we might be getting a new Alien game.
The only issue is that it won't be for a while.
After Alien Isolation, I'm ready for whatever comes next
The Alien title in question is described as a “single-player arcade survival horror game that sees players trying to survive on a decaying space station.”
Well, on brand for everything alien related. But here's where things get interesting. You will be chased by Xenomorphs, as well as Spec-Ops units, and the game is described as Alien Vets Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
Oh yeah
The game will have a mix of combat, puzzle and platform elements. Stealth will be a big focus, as will resource management. Enemies will obviously be more advanced, adapting to how the player progresses. The puzzles will reportedly range from machine repair to code cracking.
As it stands, three characters will be in the game, including Aubrey, the main character who is an engineer, along with Ryuozo, who may or may not be the antagonist, and Ripley 8. Oh, and if that last bit isn't cool enough already, then wait until you read that we hope to get Sigourney Weaver in the game.
The only unfortunate part comes with its release date, as the game is still very early in its development cycle, and 2028 is seen as a good window. It's in a “good place,” however, so that should be enough to keep fans satisfied, but that 2028 window will surely take some wind out of the sails either way.
Still, from what is reported, I am looking forward to the good. It's not like it's not enough to play like 2026 or 2027.

Skyrim arrived on the Nintendo Switch 2 last week, and it's about to be followed by another video game legend.
