The subsequent course at Sakamoto Days was excellent. Not only did it improve the pacing, but the visuals were even better than the first course. Overall, the second core was an upgrade, so Sakamoto Days deserves a spot on the list.

Dandaan released its much-awaited second season in 2025, and as expected, it stole all the headlines. Science Saru was under pressure to deliver an adaptation that could in any way surpass the standard set by the first season, and it's safe to say that the studio delivered.
The second season of Punishment was incredible from start to finish. This ended Jiji's troubles, bringing Momo and Okarun closer than ever. Dandadan also proved that it has one of the best supporting casts in anime. Every single person involved in the story has positively impacted it, which is extremely rare. Overall, Punishment Season 2 was almost flawless, which is why it tops the list.
My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia is easily one of the most influential anime released in the last two decades. In 2025, the series released its final season, which received overwhelmingly positive reviews. One Piece Anime proved once again that it is no longer ordinary and can hang with the big names in the industry. For years, One Piece anime was considered mediocre, and many fans preferred the manga. However, Toei Animation's efforts have tipped the scales in favor of animation.
The animation quality has improved since the story entered the Wano Country arc. Toei Animation maintained the standards even after the arc ended, so the Egghead arc has been exceptional as well. So far, the One Piece anime has released the highest rated episodes on IMDb, surpassing Solo Leveling and The Apothecary Diaries. In addition to the amazing animation quality, the story is excellent, which is why One Piece is the best shonen anime of 2025.
