The Game Awards 2025 are getting trashed in Geoff Keighley's poll

The game awards were concluded a few hours ago. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won almost everything, including Game of the Year. Although this is not surprising, it seems that many people are affected by this year's event. Maybe it's because their favorite game didn't win, but I think it has to do with the reveal, especially the show's final world premiere.

Geoff Keighley held a Twitter poll asking fans how they would grade The Game Awards 2025. The majority voted for the 'D or below' option. The event overall had some good reveals – two, Tomb Raider games, Total War: Warhammer 40K, Divinity, Control: Resonant, Mega Man: Dual Override, and Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, unfortunately, it seems it wasn't enough for some people.

Many fans were impressed with Game Awards 2025

We've got some big reveals, it seems that fans were really waiting for Half-Life 3 or Elder Scrolls 6. It wouldn't have been so bad if they had used one of the above reveals as the final world premiere instead of Highguard. To make matters worse, an image of the hills behind Keighley just before the announcement appears to be shown in TES 6.

At the time of writing, a total of 219,509 votes have been cast and only 18 percent have received 'A' grade. 26 percent gave 'B' and 21 percent gave 'C'. The majority of votes went to 'D or below', which was 35 percent. There are still 17 hours left until polls close, so it could swing the other way, or it could possibly be worse.

Game Awards viewers say the Best Multiplayer win is “atrocious” and that the AI should be an automatic disqualification.

Should games that use AI be disqualified from awards ceremonies?

While a better reveal order could have been implemented, I got a little excited when I saw those mountains, only to let it down as a PvP multiplayer shooter. Unfortunately, that is reflected in Keighley's survey.
