The Pokemon Gen 10 region map leaks online, and there's a lot of water

Earlier this year, a leak known as Teraleak 2 released several key details Pokemon Gen 10 — and new leaks have showcased some of the features coming to the game. One of the latter is a first look at the beta map Pokemon Gen 10, from which the name is derived Pokemon Wind(s)/Pokemon Wave(s). It is currently unknown whether the titles are plural or not.

As a note, because this is a beta rendering of the area, it may change a lot before release. However, given Pokemon Gen 10 is inspired by Southeast Asia/Indonesia, the bones of the map may be very similar to the official release.

Pokemon Gen 10 is inspired by Southeast Asia/Indonesia

As posted by CentroLeaks, the map is inspired to the point that it is very similar. Followers of the leaker have noted that many of the islands haven't been changed much from their real-world inspirations, though this is likely to change. Essentially, the islands of Indonesia and the Malay Peninsula have been taken and rearranged, but otherwise look very familiar. Some notable landmarks include, but are not limited to,

  • Sumatra

  • Java

  • New Guinea

  • Kalimantan

  • Borneo

  • Sulawesi

  • Southern Thailand

  • A part of Australia

  • many others

Other notable points on the map include the volcanoes at the heart of the region, desert areas and snowy mountains (all staples), and the inclusion of Sulawesi. For those unfamiliar, Sulawesi is famous for its extreme endemicity, as species have evolved in isolation and are found nowhere else on earth. Not leaked for “separate development”. Pokemon Gen 10, but if it shows its own regional developments, that's probably the best motivation. And to Mem's credit, there is a lot of water in this area, unlike Hoenn or Alola. Although this is to be expected.

The inclusion of Borneo, along with rising water, seems like supporting evidence for my theory Pokemon The Gen 10 Water Starter is based on the Proboscis Monkey. Previous leaks, as well as other pieces of evidence, point in that direction, but the general map makes it clear how much islands and open waters will play out. Pokemon Wind(s)/Pokemon Wave(s).

For now, fans will have to wait to see what changes from this beta version. Pokemon Gen 10 is expected to be revealed on Pokemon Day in February, and it will likely launch sometime in Fall 2026. It's certainly nice to see this glimpse of the area ahead of it, but the biggest question on everyone's mind, which hasn't been leaked, is what the new Pokemon will actually look like. Well, fans are months, if not a year+, away from that, but it will be interesting to see how this new area shapes up.
