Tunis: A Tunisian appeals court on Friday reduced a TV broadcaster's prison sentence from one year to eight months, his lawyer told AFP. Borhen Basais was initially sentenced to 12 months in prison under an order punishing “spreading false information” and “defaming others or harming their reputation”. “The Court of Appeal in the capital Tunis has decided to reduce the stay sentence from 12 months to eight,” said Nizar Ayed, his lawyer.
