During the 2025 edition of TwitchCon at the San Diego Convention Center, Emiru was harassed and assaulted by an unknown attendee during a meet and greet session. Hours after the incident, the alleged assailant had not been arrested. Emiru later said in an October stream that she had filed a police report to press charges of assault and harassment against the TwitchCon attacker and called out Twitch for their lack of security and accountability. In response, various content creators and Twitch users expressed overwhelming support for Emiru and his management following the incident.

While Twitch has already released a comment on Emiru's attack in late October, the streaming service released a follow-up statement on social media. Twitch said in a Nov. 7 post on X that it failed to keep Emiru safe and prevent the TwitchCon attack incident from happening in the first place. Twitch said it will recognize Emiru's advocacy by donating to non-profit organizations working to combat sexual harassment and harassment, but did not reveal further details about its future plans in this regard.
