There are many materials that you will come across Ark Raiders And while some exist only to be sold or reused, other key items are used to craft gear you need to survive.
One of these is a voltage converter, which players will need if they want to make either a heavy shield or a showstopper grenade. Thankfully, this item is a bit easier to obtain than some of the more elusive rare-tier items, such as Rusted Gears or Industrial Batteries. Here's where to find these crafting materials and what you can salvage.
Where to find voltage converters
When it comes to finding voltage converters, there are many different places you can look. Classified as electrical-type material, this means you have a high chance of locating any point of interest with a bold electrical symbol under the name. Here are some of the main places I like to look specifically when I'm farming voltage converters:
- Pilgrim's Peak at the Blue Gate
- Electrical Substation and Power Generation Complex at Dam Battleground
- Arrival building at the spaceport
Pilgrim's Peak is my favorite place to look for voltage convertersThe basement is full of all these electrical panels and fuse boxes that you can breach. Along with the processor and sensor, I often find several voltage converters. It also helps that it's a high-level loot zone, meaning the chances of finding blue or epic tier gear are much better than most locations – Pilgrim's Peak in particular has a ton of electrical-type stuff.
Another popular, if often chaotic location, is the power generation complex on the dam battlefield. Located in the northern part of the map, you'll want to stick to the basement while looking for voltage converters.
The loot isn't as densely packed as Pilgrim's Peak, but it makes up for it in the sheer size of this point of interest. There are many areas with computer terminals and breakable metal boxes that are often great for finding voltage converters. When you need them.
Finally, the arrival building here at the spaceport is based entirely on my massive, totally superstitious belief that the breachable basement is full of super electrical level objects. While the building is classified as both commercial and technical, there is a small basement room you can enter that contains several computers and servers that you can break into. I have had very consistent success finding voltage converters.
What to recycle for voltage converters
Conversely, if you don't want to search for voltage converters individually, you can break down specific materials to get them. Remember, always to recycle out of print, because it gives good yield and items when you strip them for parts. Items that can be salvaged for voltage converters are:
- Industrial charger
- ion sputter
- Signal amplifier
Of the three, Ion Sputters are the best choice as they will give you 4 voltage converters and an Exodus Module. However, these are Epic Tier, so don't expect them to stumble too much. That said, if you end up with a ton of them while exploring the new Stella Montis map they can be safely set aside for these materials!
