ZA NPCs are stealing shiny Pokemon

Pokemon players can be a very impatient bunch, and honestly, I count myself among their number. With the game's lack of voice acting, it can be very easy to mash past dialogue that you're not too invested in, just to get your reward and be on your merry way. That's better than any other Pokémon game except Legends: ZA, though, which has side quests that are a bit more intense and unique than the rest of the series.

For example, throughout the city of Lumios, you'll find many NPCs that you'll want to bring certain Pokemon with very specific needs, usually in terms of their size. There are some of them who want to hand over the Pokemon you find, making their intentions clear from the start, but it seems that a rather alarming number of fans are accusing these poor NPCs of stealing their Pokemon, some of which have that all-important shine.

Pokemon Legends: ZA NPCs are stealing shiny Pokemon

One of these fans was Reddit user Gay_Pink_Dragon (an incredible name), who accidentally managed to give away his shiny Pumpkaboo, not realizing that the quest giver would take it as part of the quest. In the post embedded above, we can actually see Quest Giver Tails standing proudly in front of a line of Pumpkaboos, one of them a deep purple, while next to a perhaps more dejected gay_pink_dragon.

Surprisingly, they aren't the only players who lost their Pokemon this way. In the comments of Gay_Pink_Dragon's post, you can find another person named Anonymous Ghost-0 who shares a screenshot of the Shiny Gogot that they accidentally gave away as part of Side Quest 63, in which you find Gogot for a person to help you with your business. In fact, just last week, a similar Reddit post by a user called Villain Whale raised the issue of this guy stealing their gogots, even though theirs, thankfully, weren't shiny.

Sure, you could accuse these poor NPCs of stealing Pokemon, but your argument certainly wouldn't hold up in a court of law. Both NPCs state rather clearly that they want to find Pokemon for them for good, so if you haven't completed these side quests yet, make sure to read up on what these guys want from you. I think this proves once and for all that Pokemon games are in dire need of voice acting.
