Abilities are not present Pokemon Legends: ZASo all the new Mega Evolutions introduced in the game are getting abilities for the first time Pokemon Champions. Unfortunately for fans of one Legends: ZA For starters, its Mega Evolution ability is completely ineffective compared to its counterparts.
in competition Pokemon In battles, abilities can make or break a mon's usefulness, depending on how the ability coordinates with the rest of the Pokemon's kit, with the ability to completely outclass its competitors. When a Pokémon mega-evolves, it often gains a new, unique ability that can make it even more powerful than before, such as Mega Kangaskhan's overpowered parental bond ability, or Mega Blaziken's speed boost. Pokemon Legends: ZA Introduced 45 new Mega Evolutions that don't have abilities yet, so there's still a lot of mystery about which new Megas will make it into the field. Pokemon Champions Meta.

Mega Amboar's Pokemon champions have a much worse ability than other Legends: ZA starters
Despite the popularity of Beach Mega Emboar Pokemon Legends: ZA Fans, the critter suffers from having the worst ability Legends: ZA Starting at Pokemon Champions. Before its disclosure Legends: ZA Mega Evolution Abilities of Starters The original Kalos starter Megas revealed their abilities, Mega Chesnut had Bulletproof, Mega Delfox had Levitate, and Mega Greninja had Protean. All these abilities are quite strong, so there was hope Legends: ZA The starter trio will all get the same treatment. ZA's Starter Mega Evolution abilities explained in Pokemon Legends: Champions
-
Mega Meganium – Mega Soul: Allows the Pokemon to move like weathered sunlight.
-
Mega Amboar – Mold Breaker: The effect of an opposing Pokemon's ability is ignored if possible.
-
Mega Feraligatr – Dragonize: Normal-type moves become Dragon-type by increasing damage by 20%.
Mega Meganium and Mega Feraligat are both getting new abilities Pokemon Champions which are so far unique to these mons. Mega Meganium's Mega Sol ability essentially allows it to use moves as if Strong Sunlight were active, meaning it can use Solar Beam in a single turn without setting Sunlight with the Sunlight or Drought ability. Mega Feraligatr's new ability Dragonize could be even better, allowing the critter to use normal-type attacks as if they were Dragon-Type for STAB damage, which hits Double-Edge or Giga Impact like a truck.
The downside to Mega Feraligator's ability is that these Normal-type attacks won't be able to hit Fairy types, as they are immune to Dragon-type moves.
By comparison, the mold breaker capacity of the Mega Amboar is much lower. Not only is this an ability that already exists and is found in many other Mega Evolutions, but it's also not as strong of an ability for competitive battles. Mold Breaker allows the Pokémon to ignore certain abilities that the opponent has when attacking, such as being able to hit opponents with Earthquake Levitate. Although this ability can be decently positioned, its utility is much lower than Mega Meganium and Mega Feraligator's abilities.
Why is Mega Ambor not worth using on Pokemon champions?
Only one Mega Evolution can be used on a team in traditional competition Pokemon Battle patterns, it's probably not worth wasting that slot on Mega Ambor Pokemon Champions. Both of Amboar's non-mega abilities are better than Mold Breaker. Blaze is the default ability for Fire-type starters, but it increases the power of the user's Fire-type moves when their HP is below one-third. Reckless can be another ability Amboar, and it increases the power of moves that deal recoil damage, such as Flare Blitz, by 20%. Both of these abilities affect Amboar, regardless of the status of the opposing Pokemon, making them more useful than Mold Breaker.
Other Mega Evolutions with Mold Breaker
-
Mega Gyarados
-
Mega Ampharos
Two other Mega Evolutions already have Mold Breaker as their ability, but have mixed results competitively. Pokemon battles. Ampharos was never viable as a competitive Pokemon and getting a Mold Breaker doesn't do the critter much favors as it mega-evolves. However, Mega Gyarados is somewhat viable as a competitive Pokemon, as it has Intimidate as its non-Mega ability, which allows it to reduce the opponent's attack status when switching in before Mega-evolving and gaining Mold Breaker after Intimidate loses its usefulness. Mega Gyarados also loses its 4x weakness to Electric-type moves when it swaps Flying Type for Dark Type, making Mega Gyarados a solid competitive option.
When Meganium mega-evolves, it gives a huge boost to its special attack, taking it from an ineffective mon to a real competitive threat. As with Mega Soul's ability, Mega Meganium's main damage-dealing attack should be Solar Beam, since it doesn't have to wait a turn to charge an attack. Mega Meganium can boost his special attack to get even more power from Solar Beam with Work Up or get lucky with Ancient Power's Omni-Boost side effect. Grassland is another solid choice for Mega Meganium as it increases the damage of grass-type attacks when active.
Mega Feraligatr is already a physical powerhouse, and in its Dragonize ability Pokemon Champions It can give a wide range of abilities. Aside from great Water and Dragon-type Stab moves like Fluidity and Fury, Mega Feraligator can also deal serious damage with Double-Edge, as Dragonize will change it from a normal-type move to a Dragon-type one. Feraligatr also has access to Dragon Dance, which can boost both its attack and speed stats and set up an offensive sweep.
