Akaja was almost as unstoppable as Yorichi

Kokushibo takes great pride in his position as Upper Moon 1 within the Demon Army of Muzan Kibutsuji. He is second only to Muzan in strength, making him one of the most dangerous monsters to inhabit Infinity Castle. On top of wielding a modified Nichirin sword, Kokushibo also possesses the demon slaying mark, which increases the power of his moon breathing and technique.
While Kokushibo still goes by the name Michikatsu Sugikuni, his power level pales in comparison to that of his younger brother Yorichi. His demonic transformation, however, narrowed the gap between himself and Yorichi, but he was still no match for the legendary swordsman in his prime.

Muzan Kibutsuji was Yoriichi's strongest enemy
Muzan Kibutsuji is the most powerful demon that stands in the way of the Demon Slayer Core throughout the series. As the Demon King, Muzan has a near-immortal body that instantly regenerates, blood that turns humans into demons, and biokinesis that changes his body at will.
Of the monsters Yorichi faced during his lifetime, Muzan was one of only two monsters to survive. Muzan was powerful enough to withstand Yorichi's deadly strikes in his lone encounter, but the experience haunted him for years.
