Relics are a key component of Elden Ring Nightreign, and with their aid, this extraction-style game becomes somewhat of a roguelike. To get stronger and progress further each night, you will have to give it your all to hunt and collect as many relics as you are able.

Elden Ring Nightreign: How To Upgrade Weapons

Smithing works a little differently from how it used to in Elden Ring Nightreign.

However, once you get your hands on some relics, what they do and how to equip them can be a bit confusing and overwhelming at first. With so much to learn and so many things opening to you all at once, we’ve taken everything apart for you so that you can have the best chance at mastering these crucial components faster.

What Are Relics?

Relics are items that you can equip to your character before venturing out on a night hunt. It cannot be altered once you enter a session, but you can edit it once you return.

When equipped, Relics can give up to three unique effects to your character. These effects are greatly diverse, and with the exception of special circumstances, most effects on Relics are randomly generated when you receive them.

There are three levels of Relics:

Delicate: One effect
Polished: Two effects
Grand: Three effects

As you can see, the levels of the Relics determine how many effects each piece will have on your character. The higher the level, the more effects you can have.

Each Relic can have one of four colors:

These colors do not affect the kinds of bonuses your character gets, as they are in no way related. These colors are only important for equipping them to your character.

Each character will have a chalice within which these Relics are placed. Chalices will determine which colors of Relics you are allowed and how many.

List Of Relic Effects: Unique Relics

As Relic effects are randomly generated from a pool, it is not possible to give an itemized list of every relic and its effect. However, there is a set of unique Relics that will always have the same effects.

Most of these relics fall into one of three categories:

Remembrance Relics
Nightlord Relics
Jar-Bought Relics

While the bought relics are nothing special, we’ll list the more impressive Remembrance and Nightlord relics below:

Night Of The Baron	Blue	Critical Hits are improved by +1. Critical Hits moderately fill the Ultimate Art gauge. Critical Hits increase Stamina recovery speeds.
Night Of The Beast	Green	Successful attacks recover Stamina by +1. Starting weapons deal Fire damage.
Night Of The Champion	Green	Maximum Stamina is increased. Guard counters are increased based on current HP. Thrusting Counterattacks restore HP.
Night Of The Demon	Red	Shop purchases on hunts cost significantly less. Using the gesture “Crossed Legs” builds Madness. Madness continuously regenerates FP.
Night Of The Fathom	Red	Maximum HP is increased. Drinking flasks also heal allies. Item effects also apply to allies.
Night Of The Lord	Blue	Switching weapons adds a random Affinity. Added Affinities have boosted Attack Power. Switching weapons increases Attack power.
Night Of The Miasma	Yellow	Frostbite nearby applies Concealment on the player. Starting weapons begin with the Chilling Mist skill. Deal increased damage against Frostbitten enemies.
Night Of The Wise	Yellow	Maximum FP is increased. Starting weapons inflict poison. Poison and Rot nearby will increase Attack Power.
Black Claw Necklace	Yellow	Defeating enemies near Totem Stela restores HP Defeating enemies fill smore of the Ultimate Art gauge Gain +3 Poise
Blessed Flowers	Green	While Executor’s Character Skill is active, using Cursed Sword restores HP. Gain +3 Dexterity.
Blessed Iron Coin	Green	When Duchess defeats an enemy while her Ultimate Art is active, her attack power is increased. Gain continuous HP recovery. Gain +3 Vigor.
Bone-Like Stone	Green	When Recluse activates her Ultimate Art, her Maximum HP is increased. When Recluse activates her Ultimate Art, she suffers blood loss, but her attack power is increased. Gain +3 Intelligence.
Cracked Sealing Wax	Yellow	When Ironeye is used, his Weak Point from his Character Skill is extended. Critical Hits made gain Runes.
Crown Medal	Green	Duchess attack power is improved when wielding a dagger. Duchess’s chain attacks hit again after completion.
Golden Dew	Yellow	Duchess’s Restage skill has increased Attack Power. Attacks made with an additional affinity have increased power.
Golden Sprout	Red	When Executor uses his Roar during his Ultimate Art, he restores HP. Guarding restores HP. When HP is low, the player generates slow HP restoration for themselves and their allies.
Old Pocketwatch	Green	Successive Attacks restore FP. Gain +3 Dexterity.
Old Portrait	Blue	Revenant triggers a ghostflame exploration when she activates her Ultimate Art. When Revenant activates her Ultimate Art, she fully heals nearby allies using her own HP. The Ultimate Art gauge is filled faster when defeating enemies.
Slate Whetstone	Red	When Wylder uses his Character Skill while wielding a greatsword, he can perform a follow-up attack. Gain improved Physical Attack.
Small Makeup Brush	Blue	When Revenant fights alongside her family, her power is increased. Gain more Runes for self and allies when defeating foes.
Stone Stake	Red	Guardian’s Character Skill duration is increased. Character Skill cooldowns are reduced by +3.
Torn Braided Cord	Blue	Raider’s Attack Power and Stamina are increased when he takes damage while using his Character Skill. Gain +3 Strength.
Vestige Of Night	Green	Recluse can activate Terra Magicka when collecting affinity residue. Gain Magic Attack Power +2.

How Do I Get More Relics?

Duchess purchases a Scenic Flatstone from the Small Jar Bazaar in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Relics are acquired through taking part in your hunts for the Nightlord and through purchases at the Small Jar Bazaar.

While the Small Jar Bazaar’s initial purchases are straightforward, it does offer the unique Scenic Flatstone. By purchasing this item, you can randomly generate new Relics.

Play inspects a yellow Relic given as a reward for defeating a Nightlord in Elden Ring Nightreign.

On the other hand, once you complete a hunt, be that by successfully killing your Nightlord or by dying, a number of Relics will be given to you. They will be randomly generated, but there are some important factors that affect the generation:

The further you progress and the stronger enemies you slay, the greater the number and rarity of Relics you will receive.
First time clears of Nightlord runs will always give you the Nightlord’s unique Relic.

If you find yourself with too many Relics, you can sell them from the Relics menu at the altar.

How Do I Change My Chalices And Equip Relics?

Recluse purchases chalices from the Small Jar Bazaar in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Chalices can be acquired in one of two ways:

Bought from the Small Jar Bazaar.
Acquired as rewards for completing Remembrance quests.

While not available from the start, as you progress further on your expeditions, the Small Jar Bazaar will offer more items. For the Chalices, the Small Jar will sell Chalices after you defeat Tricephalos.

When you receive a new Chalice or a new Relic, you can go to the special Relic altar in the center of Roundtable Hold. It is a small area with blue candles and curtains next to the table.

Inside, you can select a Nightfarer of your choosing and switch between Chalices or equip new Relics in here.

Yes, you can have Relics in Chalices you are not currently using. However, both Chalices will not be active at the same time. You must select the one that will be active during your hunt.
