Battlefield 6 Season 1's new weapons will dominate the next meta

After some time shaking hands Battlefield 6’s first season, I can confidently say that some of its new additions will be great – really great. Rogue Ops, the first phase of Season 1, will add three new weapons to the general arsenal when it drops on October 28, and while fundamentally different additions, each has meta-defining stuff. In fact, these three new Battlefield 6 The weapons are probably the best in their respective weapon classes.

recent Battlefield 6 The Season 1 playtest only had three new weapons available for use — specifically the three from the season's first phase — but that turned out to be great, as it gave players a fair amount of time to test their capabilities both in-game and on the firing range. With that experience in the rearview and after some serious thought, it's clear that these weapons will be impressive in the next one. Battlefield 6 Meta.

All Battlefield 6 Season 1 Weapons, Explained

Roadmap for season one

Season 1 Battlefield 6 The game is adding five new weapons in its three distinct phases – Rogue Ops, releasing on October 28, California Resistance on November 18, and Winter Offensive, dropping on December 9:

Rogue Ops Weapons:

  • SOR-300SC (Carbine)

  • Mini Scout (Sniper)

  • GGH-22 (Sidearm)

California Resistance Arms:

  • DB-12 (Shotgun)

  • M357 Feature (Revolver)

Winter Offensive Weapons:

  • Ice Climbing X (ml)

The hands-on preview showed only three weapons from the first phase of Rogue Ops Battlefield 6 Season 1. Each of those weapons was great for several reasons, all of which are listed below.

SOR-300SC: Carbine to dethrone the M4A1

SOR-300SC can Dethrone Battelfield 6's M4A1

In the first group, the SOR-300SC may not look like much at first, but this subtle addition can turn into a machine when used correctly. It has the lowest rate of fire Battlefield 6’s carbines, but it makes up for it with 33 damage, which sees it tied with the SG 553R and M417 A2 for the highest DPS carbines in the game. It has very moderate recoil, and its control stats give this new carbine an edge over others. With the right attachments, it can quickly become a bit of a laser beam.

The SOR-300SC is completely use-case-dependent, as it is unlikely to beat a precision player with an excellent M4A1 loadout at extreme close range. That said, it offers enough range variability at the other end of the distance spectrum to make it very impressive in many other engagements. Plus, with the second-fastest base reload speed of all carbines, you can put it down and fire it multiple times.

The Mini Scout: Battlefield 6's new best sniper rifle

BF6's latest and greatest sniper rifle

A second new weapon coming in Season 1 is a tribute Battlefield 4The fastest bolt-action rifle, the Scout Elite. The Mini Scout Sniper Rifle is a small, fast weapon for recon looking to do some damage on the fly. It is chambered and reloaded quickly, and it is more mobile than any other rifle in its class. Additionally, it has the hardest recoil of any sniper in the game so far, a ten-round magazine, and lightning-fast ADS speed.

All that speed should technically come at the cost of damage, but it's a trade-off that's completely negated in practice. The mini scout only does 80 damage compared to the others Battlefield 6 sniper rifles' 100. Still, thanks to the same 1.75x headshot multiplier, it's an almost negligible difference for any sniper worth their salt. There's a lot to like about this new sniper; It's fast, light, and just as deadly as the others, plus it works even better for Recon players who want to slap on a 4x scope to get up close and personal.

GGH-22: Definitely not a Glock

The GGH-22 is the newest sidearm of the BF6

Last and least impressive is the new sidearm, the GGH-22. The Glock-inspired sidearm is nice, but in general, there's no statistical difference to write home about. It's interesting for what it is and what it's inspired by, but with a 15-round magazine, a slightly higher muzzle velocity than the default P18 pistol, and not much else, it's definitely not a showstopper. Outside of revolvers, however, it's not like anyone can expect much variation from the sidearm weapon class.

The GGH-22 is also the only new weapon coming Battlefield 6 The first phase of Season 1 that doesn't seem to have any new weapon packages.

New weapons and armor packages are coming in Season 1

While the GGH-22 sidearm isn't nearly as impressive an addition, it's as welcome as two more powerful weapons in the roster with launch. Battlefield 6 On October 28. What makes these new weapons even more exciting is the addition of multiple new weapon cosmetics for each, as well as packages for all other existing weapons. Those packages are also appreciated, as it would be nice to see some variation. After all, if the playtest was anything to go by, Rogue Ops' two primary weapons are likely to make quite a few appearances on the battlefield.
