Borderlands 4's next patch notes (October 30) won't be able to change my plans

Another weekend has passed, which means I once again find myself staring down the barrel Border 4Upcoming patch notes. If you're new here, I'm documenting my weekend gameplay Border 4 And how it balances/feels with any known upcoming changes. I was Vex Main running Infinite Bleed Build, so that was fun. But regardless of what the next patch notes bring, since our only preview is Gearbox monitoring the latest changes, I don't think I'll have much to do with running Vex (and that's a big problem).

Possibly, another Border 4 The patch will fix some unintended effects of the October 23rd update: QOL hits on vending machines, Crit Knife also came out to work unintentionally, etc. Amon has a new broken, OP build, so Gearbox can target that. It may be there are some other surprises, but really, what with me my weekend Border 4 The team highlighted that we were running out of things to do soon.

Borderlands 4: Grinding the Weekend Away

borderlands-4-vex-witch-intro

Unlike the previous weekend (October 17-19), I can't say we didn't have plenty of time to play, but it definitely seems like the desire to play among my friends has decreased. Our Amon main didn't hop, and our Harlow main was only active for a short period of time. When it was time to do some ghost hunting inside Phasmophobia Although? Believe me, none of us will pass it up. So, for the most part, it was our Rafa main and me grinding out challenges with armored bods. to reclaim the weekend,

  • We tested how bad the Vex nerf was. Yes, on the ground. I've heard of a new bleed build, but I haven't seen it. Obviously, we're at a point where we don't need constructs (and that's a big concern here).

  • After that, we grinded the driller sites. I think if I see another driller site this coming weekend, I'm going to feel nauseous.

  • Rafa and I both completed challenges for weapon types and manufacturers.

  • The only achievements/trophies we have left are Dave the Burrito and Catch-A-Ride (which requires you to get all the characters to level 50 for their unique vehicles).

  • We worked on our alts level for a while, but all we had was this weekend.

Armored shotgun

Rafa was running a driller site, while I was working on another, and every time, we'd go to a new site because the grind is more mind-numbing and less fun. With the bleed build (knife being weaker than the aim) as dead as a doornail, I basically respected and just went for critical chance and gun damage on Vex. It made sense for the challenge grind, but doing all this another thing came to mind.

Ask what the grind can do for you, but ask what the grind is doing for you

I've said many times that I knew Vex's Infinite Bleed Build needed to be nerfed, but I maintained that the gameplay loop was so fun that it shouldn't be nerfed. When Gearbox fixes crit knife, which caps crit chance instead of increasing it now, maybe my bleed build will be viable again. However, I think I realized something over the weekend. I honed in on hitting the challenges as hard as I could, rather than playing the way I wanted, and there are two main reasons why I'm – more or less – boycotting Vex anyway. In other words, I don't think I have much in me to pursue a new build to begin with. First, catch-a-ride means I have to already play other characters if I want all the achievements.

  • I am working on the first Rafa with my friends.

  • Then I'll swap to Amon.

  • Finally, in the midst of all this, I am running Harlow in another game with my wife.

Borderlands 3's radiation turns into a destructive force in Borderlands 4.

Of course, not all players want achievements, but I can, will and need to play other characters to accomplish the goals I set for myself. Well, Rafa and I want them at least. To get from level 30 to level 50 I already have to explore other characters and make other builds. Our plan, if we can get Amon and Harlow (although we'll all be swapping), driller sites (level 50 in UVHM5), at least one running side quests, and the other running Vileunt. We'll see how it works this weekend, if we can get everyone on board. This means I'm moving away from Vex anyway, so my build replacement is immediately less attractive. There's an abundance of build variety when I know that every other VH is basically the same level power-wise, so it really hurts my desire to work on a new build for Vex. I don't want to chase more loot at the point in the game, at least not for Vex.

Bad reward

One of the best things about Catch-A-Ride is, when Border 4When the first DLC comes out, I will have 4 vault hunters at level 50 to choose from. But that's probably a few months away, and I have to ask, now, What it means to put together a new construction?

Border 4The end game is full of grinding bosses, missions and activities like Vile Bounties and Driller Sites. These are all activities to get you somewhere, but within Border 4They won't get you anywhere. Not yet anyway. I hope it has a strong endgame in the future because, right now, I'm grinding for my own sake and the game itself isn't really anything to encourage.

Moxxi's Encore is one of Borderlands 4's best new features

I understand that my Infinite Bleed Build may be problematic for future content, but the future is not here. I'm getting to level 50, but even at UVHM5, I can't say I need cohesive builds anymore. My desire to build new Vex, or even get any of these characters to level 50, has gone downhill as I'm at the end of my rope. I'd like more, better endgame content sooner rather than later, but at the very least, I think once I get all the achievements, I'll take a break until there's no reason to return. I don't really want to bounce Border 4But now I'm asking what happens after I finish these self-imposed grinds, there's nothing challenging any level 50 characters, regardless of their build.

Vex and Rafa fighting a bunch of enemies - Borderlands 4

I know it's coming, but I (and probably many others) have been waiting for it. As such, even with the October 30 patch notes set for balance, I'm good to roll with them. Maybe I'll care about building again once I know there's a reason to build a character, but until then, my only goal is to get all the achievements. Then, I wait until Border 4 Gives me a new target to hit, whether it's in a DLC release or not. Right now, my biggest problem with the game is that there's nowhere to take any build and really push it to its limits, and until then, I'm not sure a balance patch is going to satisfy me. i believe BL4 Getting there and maybe I'm impatient, but I hope to see sooner rather than later.
